I did it AGAIN... KernelStandard_7c.dll issue

DesertFox2020

Mine went bad again. I've got copies of the one I was sent last time this occurred, but they aren't fixing the program this time. I can't access my route in Surveyor. As soon as trains begin to spawn, the game encounters an error. It claims that it is a recoverable error, yet when I click continue, it flat out crashes with a windows error message. All of the rolling stock on the map works fine, no errors in CMP and all are functional. I've used almost all of it before, anyway. Does anyone have any ideas?

Your database has crashed.

Don't start Trainz or CMP again until you repair the database.

1) Go to the folder where you installed TRS2006. Look for a file called assets.tdx

Delete this file.

Reboot.

Restart Trainz.

The program will take some time to rebuild its list of installed items. Once this completes, your database will be rebuilt, and you should be good to go. Do not touch the computer while this is happening. Let the program finish before doing anything else.

Now. I can't reiterate this enough, and this should be made a sticky.

Never, never turn off your computer until you've waited for at least 5 to 10 minutes after closing down Trainz. The program needs to close the database before shutting down the computer. If you do not wait, you'll corrupt your database and end up with problems such as this.

Thank you for the help, I'll try that tomorrow because I need my computer free for the rest of tonight. I assume all of my installed assets will be preserved?

yes. they're still there, it's just that when you restart the game after deleting and rebooting, it needs to find and collect all of them. sorta like a switching turn, shuffling cars around a big city:hehe: (bad train analogy).

assets.tdx and assets.bku can be deleted safely and will not only repair the database but also get the latest list from the DLS

If the game throws a Fatal error, never click the "Continue" button, even if the error message says "Recoverable exception: Yes" (which they often do). Always click the "Terminate" button instead. A fatal error is just what it is: a fatal error. If you click the "Continue" button and continue using Trainz, then there is a good probability that the game will stop working correctly, even to the point of really crashing right after you click the "Continue" button. For this reason, I think N3V should revise the Auran Jet engine or whatever to disable the "Continue" button on the fatal error dialog.

Regards.

Well, that didn't fix it. It lasted longer, and even spawned most of the rolling stock. But then the same exact problem happened. And clicking terminate does not close the program. It's running but doesn't accept any inputs, and has to be ended via task manager.

This is also caused by faulty content with errors such as corrupt textures, faulty scripts, etc.

What was the last thing you downloaded prior to getting this error?

Faulty hardware can cause this too. I had a weird problem where the program would crash only in Driver and after 30 minutes of driving. Curiously, it always happened when I got to a particular spot on my route. I thought it was bad content, removed and replaced stations, buildings, etc. to no avail. The problem turned out to be faulty RAM that would fail as it heated up. How did I find it? well this was done through the process of elimination, and the fact that I finally had memory errors when running other graphically intensive programs.

Faulty hardware can also be system drivers. The hardware can be fine but the underlying software that controls the hardware could be out of date, or corrupt. Ensure you have the proper ones for your hardware and not the ones provided by Microsoft. This is an issue with video drivers in a lot of cases. The drivers provided by Microsoft are okay to get going, but always replace them with the proper ones from the manufacturer. Go directly to AMD for the ATI drivers and NVidia for their drivers.

I've got the correct drivers. The error does say its a hardware access issue though, but I'm not entirely sure what that means.

Honestly I don't remember what the last thing I installed was, but nothing on this map shows any errors.

You may have downloaded an asset meant for above 2006.
The last time I remember it came with a route and crashed his comp every time.

Whatever it is will only cause a crash in driver and maybe surveyor.
It doesn't need to be rolling stock, for eg last time it was Lime product that was built for 2009 in a 2006 route, must have had a script causing the fault.
Can you narrow it down a bit, say when a consist emits from a portal, or a certain vehicle loads.

Well, you see it seems to crash faster if I try to do anything. It loads for about 30 seconds if I touch nothing. It even loads one complete train (two PRR E8s, three express cars and five of mcquirel's PRR heavyweight coaches) but it doesn't accomplish anything else. If I move the cursor around or click on anything, it crashes immediately. I've fixed every dependency issue the map has, and yet it still gives me the message when loading that there's faulty content on the map. I really don't have time or the will to go through every last piece of content and check for the wrong version:confused:

Pc specs system your using ex windows 7. If using windows 7 run as admin may help. Maybe its just time to upgrade just a suggestion there don't need to take that one.

I'm running vista 32-bit, and the only way to even make this program work is to run every involved .exe as Administrator. I have a 2.33Ghz quad core, ATI HD4670 graphics card, 500GB HDD and 4GB RAM.

I got the asset warning error to go away finally, there was ONE piece of faulty content installed that was on the map and I didn't know it. Now there's no faulty content installed in the game period. I'd be glad to buy TRS2010 but I really can't afford it.

New development: It is certainly a piece of rolling stock. The route itself with no session selected (and therefore no trains) loads fine and runs stable.

At this point if you upgrade go for trainz 12 instead of trainz 10 its well worth it. Believe me if you ever get trainz 12 its amzing.:D

If your sure, start by removing 1 catagory of cars eg tankers. Run it and see, if ok replace and remove another set.
If your using the instant load command out of the portals just place 1 car a time in the session with a loco and give the command.
As soon as you crash you've got the asset.

I put everything I haven't used before on the map and loaded it up in driver, and it ran fine. Everything else I know is stable because I've used it alot.

Every time in "driver" mode trains crashes.

Code:
Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module KernelStandard_7c.dll at 0023:00e3560d

New system (win 7x64), fresh installed Trainz, but crash. How ti fix it? I'm sick of it, I think about deleting Trainz.
