I´m searching for Trains for a architectural project

Hi there,

i am a architectural visualizer and I need some Trains for a project.
Is it possible to get those Models for a 3-d program like 3d max oder cinema4d?
Of course i would pay for it.
Maybe anyone knows where to get these Models?

Well there are BR 225s on the download station which is a repository for locomotives and other assets made by content creators. There also appears to be a G1206 but I'm not familiar with those locos. Those assets are free but there may also be payware available. Trainz version 10 is only about $10 and Trainz 12 is about $40 although it frequently goes on sale. Don't consider the new version of Trainz, called TANE, just yet as it will not be available until very late in the year.

If you purchase Trainz you will get access to those and subsequent registration of the serial number will get you access to the German language specific forum which may be useful.

Just to be clear, you will not normally get the 3D source file but rather a mesh model suitable for use in Trainz itself. You could always negotiate with the actual creator.

Dirk, there are a number of sites on the web where you can purchase and download 3D models of trains. Turbosquid (WWW.turbosquid.com) has a couple dozen or so trains available. While there are many models here, they have been compiled to operate in the game, and since you seem to be using a 3D software tool for visualization, the trainz here cannot be directly used. You'll need to make contact with the individual creators to obtain the original models from which the game models were compiled.

There are two German firms which have created a significant amount of content: HP Trainz and Blue Sky Interactive. The operators of one or the other of these sites may be willing to license the original models, or if they don't quite have what you want, they may be willing to make it on commission.
