I'll step out on a limb here and say that I really don't understand why people are still hanging on to TRS2004. After all, this is the year 2007 and almost 2008. I think it is time to move on...
Zorro

I will also step out on a limb and say that there are probably more TRS04 users than TRS06 users. The constant daily posts on the forums about problems with TRS06 and the refusal to create new 06 content by the big name freeware and payware creators has lead me to this conclusion.

The number of posts in the TRS06 forum might seem to show more TRS06 users. However, most of the TRS06 posts are concerning problems with the program. Because TRS04 is stable fewer users post in the TRS04 forum-they are instead enjoying the game.

Since Auran will not be releasing any further service packs for TRS06, the program is dead. Auran has been given two years to fix TRS06 and have failed and will not be releasing anymore patches. The question should be "why are people still hanging on" to TRS06?

So yes, "it is time to move on" ...back to a train simulator that works...TRS04.

:D For those Gmax artists that may be interested...the Hudson needs BOATS!

I'm installing invisible track in the river for driveable boats.

Anyone up for steamboat races? :)

You cease to amaze me zorronov. i can't wait for this one! (not to rush you at all) As for the issue of what is better 04, 06, or classics, neither is the best game as each has it's strenghths and weaknesses. It all depends on people personal tastes and computers. I personally prefer 06 because oter than errors in CMP and 1 other error when use yahoo trainz works like clockwork. Now that i think about it the only time trainz ver crashes is when i im people on yahoo and play at the same time.

Now...now...gentlemen. Be nice. I understood what was meant. If I get corrected on every typo I make we will sink into an OT black hole. :D

My bad, supposed to be a friendly correction. Rereading it, I see it could easily be mistaken as me being picky. Sorry:wave:

No problem i didn't mean it to be offensive. i joke about my beeing stoopid like that a lot. ask any of my friends, :hehe: supposed to be a harmless joke, sorry if anyone mis-interpreted lol

Excellent work Zorronov

Glad to see it survived the transition to TC OK. Did you have much of a problem with the missing built in stuff?

I have a couple of beautiful pics of P32s on the Hudson Line I collected when trying to find reference material and I must say it was far more picturesque than the Harlem Line. That, and the fact that I travelled on it back in 93!

Good luck with it and look forward to downloading it when it is finished.

Cheers
Tony

Thanks Tony! It's going well so far. The plan is to continue building the route in TRS06 and periodically transferring it into TC. That way there will be two versions developing side by side and I can compare them as I go along. Out of 467 dependencies, I have had trouble transferring 2 built-in ones, a shed and a grass texture (which, as you can see from the above screenshots, I don't seem to have used much). I haven't decided what to do about that yet, but the simplest thing is to delete and/or replace them. There have been a number of errors which I am correcting and, so far, they have been very easily fixed (tag stuff and mismatched texture sizes). I will post some comparison shots when I get an opportunity, with frame rates from Fraps displayed in the upper corner. Stay tuned!

Cheers,
Fred

Wow, that FL9 looks right at home. Once Classics comes in I'll skin some CTDoT Shoreliner I cars so you can mix and match and make it even more proto :hehe:

Did you ever check out that DVD about Metro North and Amtrak on the upper and mid Hudson Line?

Looks great Fred!
Can't wait to run some trains on it.

P.S.: Are you going to go past Poughkeepsie to Hyde Park and past Vanderbilt Mansion, that's one of my favorite places to watch trains.

Thanks tbob! Yes...mixing and matching would certainly be more proto. :D I've ordered the DVD you mentioned online but it's been back-ordered. Hopefully it will arrive soon. I have 4 hours of DVD footage of the CSX River Subdivision on the west shore and many photos from all eras of the Hudson Line. It will be a welcome addition to my resources and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Poughkeepsie? :) That's a long way from here at the rate I move. For now it's "Beacon or Bust!" Hmmmm...that's kind of catchy.

When you get TC, let me know. I might have a couple of photoshop layers you could use ;)

Fred, that line is looking superb and I see what you mean about FPS. I think a lot of that has got to do with texture handling from what Aidan has posted, but whatever it is, if it speeds things up, it must be good.

Hey, thanks Tony. Rob said he sent my copy last week so hopefully it'll be here this weekend.

Hope there's no hard feelings about the FL9, I honestly wasn't trying to criticize.

Thanks Tony and tbob. I've spent this afternoon getting the route all sorted out in TC. It now has no missing dependencies, no errors, and is running even smoother than before. In the shots above, there were still about 40 dependencies with errors. I've also installed some station triggers for the cab display.

Yeahhh Buddyyy!
