HTML Q's

Hi everyone,

I have several questions. I am creating a session for a route in TRS2004 (no telling) and I want to know how and where you make those instructions that come up (like in tutorials and Symphony on Steel session) and how you add them. I know how to make them come up when you want with triggers. This is for now and future reference for other sessions (I like following instructions to a goal).

Thanks to any info.

Something I think wasn't covered...

How do you make HTML' come up without triggers. I'm creating a session for a route I don't own and I want HTML to come up at certain points (like after coupling to a consist). Any Ideas?

Hi,

You would have to use a session rule, like ResourceCheck to check to see if 'something' has happened, of course it would not be ResourceCheck, it would be another rule.

It would work like 'check' to see if the locomotive has coupled to a 'certain' piece of rolling stock/wagon then display html page.

I'll have to have a look and see what I can find out for you, see what rule you would need to use to do what you want.

Possibly the consist check rule? "Whenever a consist matching this is discovered, the rule activates"

I can't find my folder with my assests in to check, I clearly named it my session name. Where should the folder go?

Edit: Ahh, I need to use CMP, but what is it?Is it content Manager because I can't find Import Content there?

Hi,

Yeah I think you could use that one, you could use the "Wait on train stop/start" rule (I think thats in TRS2006, not on that system right now) and set it to match a certain train. When the train stops (or starts) ou could get it to trigger Display HTML rule.

CMP is the new content manager, to import content, File menu then Import Content.

Hello again,

Thanks for the info again. This new content manager, where can I get it because mine doesn't have the import in the file menu.

Hi,

Are we talking about TRS2006 or TRS2004 here??

There are 2 different ways of doing this, in TRS2004, go into where TRS2004 is installed, by default C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004 then go into the World folder, nxt into the Custom folder. If there is not a folder called HTML Assets then create one, now paste your html folder into it, your html should be in a folder called something you know.

When you start TRS2004, it will recache the custom folder so your html should be ready to use.

(I did that from memory, I have not used TRS2004 for ages now)

In TRS2006, just start CMP, from the File menu, select Import Content, click on the Open For Edit tab and select your asset and press CTRL + M to commit it and see if there are any errors.

If there is it will tell you.

Hope this helps... :)

I assume TO is Trainz Objectz? (Stupid question alert) what's a .chump file? I've opened Trainz Objectz and let it do it's thing then gone onto TRS2004 but still nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Its the cache files in the bin folder but these wont rebuild anything in the custom folder as this is built each time you open trainz.

Still nothing. What should I do? Should it be in the World>Custom>html folder? Should it be in th bin>cach folder?

The project has been put on hold for ages now but I will persivere.

Your html work needs to be in a named folder with a config file for it, then placed in the world/custom/html folder. As you have 2004 the html folder should be there as the 2004 intro is placed in it. open the 2004 folder to see what's in there.

Hi,

Ahh, I see what's wrong.

Click Tools -> Folder Options, click View tab then take the tick out of the box next to Hide extensions for known file types.

Your html is a text file, also, the Blackton Valley Baldwin Config.config file i'm guessing is the config, this needs to be renamed config.txt and you can rename the Blackton Valley Baldwin Intro.html file to intro.html

Hope this helps... :)
