How To Telephone Auran

Hi,

Anyone know how to contact Auran via phone?

Thanks

Generally speaking Auran are not contactable by phone. If its a technical problem post it in the forum, if its an issue about serial numbers or delivery leave a message on helpdesk.

I agree...there are hundereds of willing members of this forum ready and willing to help anyone. If it is about 2009 version...I, for one, am just about ready, to myself, upgrade from 2006, and dive headlong into the 2009 version, and I personally know of several others who just got 2009, and are thrilled...2009 will be getting better and better each and every day.
Three cheers...to all at the Auran crew:

Hi Joc
For any support for Trainz, please either use the forums or the helpdesk (see the link at the top of the page). We don't offer telephone support, and haven't for some time now.
As well, the email support for the old helpdesk is no longer used, and has not been for a number of years. There is an email address for the new helpdesk, which is on the main page of the helpdesk. However, it is preferred that you use the online system.

I myself severely dislike website forms: I'd rather email to say what's on my mind. But that's just an opinion of course. :)

I had to try to call Auran because the marketing team would not email me back. I will give you a hint the email had northing to do with Trainz Magazine it was about......

Cheers,
JRT

I agree and I love a forums. Generally very knowledgeable and intelligent people and a lot to be gained. However, my issue required the attention of someone in Auran and as I have never had to ocntact them before and trying to do so for the first time was extremely difficult and I wondered if they were still around or if it was the real deal. Email responses were coming back by a robot and not accepted.

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. I must ask though... Are you not concerned if a perspective or current customer can not contact you; receives a disconnected telephone message, emails are not being replied to, invalid SSL website certificate and to rely on public forums?

You must understand my situation when I tried to contact you with an issue over making an online purchase, then getting these barriers. I was of the opinion if I proceeded, I would lose out and therefore don't make any purchase ;-)

Hi Joc
As has already been said, we have a helpdesk system available. This is accessed by either clicking the 'helpdesk' link above, or going to http://support.auran.com/

We have not supported the 'helpdesk@auran.com' email address for a number of years now. I believe this was shut down in about 2005.

The telephone support was dropped, as per this announcement on January 15th 2008. http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showpost.php?p=224435&postcount=1

We are concerned with potential customers, which is why the new helpdesk system was bought online. This system does actually have an email address linked to it, although it is preferred to not post this publicly so as to prevent spam (the reason for the old one being closed).

There are different ways to purchase Trainz, one is retail and you may feel more comfortable about talking to a salesperson in a store.

Auran sells directly but the bulk of its product is sold through distributors. If you have an issue about online purchasing then leaving a message on helpdesk works and will get you the information you require. To contact helpdesk look for the link at the top of this page. Occasionally helpdesk does not respond within a day normally when its Christmas or some such and Auran has closed down for a week or two. Do not expect a reply over the weekend.

Many sites have invalid SSL website certificates I've even hit the problem on www.microsoft.com. If you pay via paypal you are well protected.
