How to move great distances in Surveyor??

I have some routes on which I would like to place consists at opposite ends of the routes. Is there an easy way to open a route, and then JUMP or MOVE to the far extreme end without mousing my way following the entire track length for several hundred miles? Can I open the map somehow while in Surveyor, move along the map baseboards, drop a consist, move to the far extreme and drop another consist? (there's probably an easy way to do this I simply haven't found yet...embarrassing).

Thanks!

'Find Object' in the Main Menu. If you are moving to the extreme ends of the route presumably there are named portals, or I sometimes drop any nameable scenery object (MRL Sign is my favourite) at a spot I need to return to often and give it a name like AAA and it sits right at the top of the 'Find Object' list.

Or alternatively click the mini map option in the menu and use the arrows to navigate, both methods work.

Open the minimap and right click on the location you want. The main screen map will jump to that point.

Thanks to everyone for the kind and quick replies. I tried several of the options offered, and I think I've got a handle on it now. I'm using the minimap ideas, but will give the Find Object method some more practice.

Some of you may not be aware that you can expand the Mini-map to a much larger size, and it will retain that size until you shut down Trainz. I usually move the map to the top of the screen, and expand it right, left and down. If you zoom the map all the way out, you can travel a long distance with one click.

The bookmark option is what I use. After that I use the find object.

With the bookmark option you can set up to 10 (I think) different places on the route to jump too in the time it takes to make a click with the mouse button.

I have found the 'Find Object' the quickest to use. If I am at Newcastle and want to go to Kings Cross I just start typing 'Kings Cross' in the search box and by the time you have typed the first few letters all the Kings Cross related objects appear and just click 'Enter'. It takes you straight to that area, really handy.
