I purchased a disk called Trainz Simulator 2 Pack.
I was wondering about the installation.

Should I install 2009 World Builder first and then 2010 Engineers Edition on top of it?
Is there anything in the World Builder that is not in the Engineers Edition?
Should they be installed separately in different areas?

Hi and welcome to Trainz,

They are two different games.

2010 will support all assets from 2009, not the other way around. You will find assets in 2010 that wont work in 2009.

2010 does not contain the routes of 2009, everything else is better or otherwise available for 2010, so you could install both and than transfer the routes from 2009 to 2010.

Yes, 2010 has that.

With a caveat...

Don't update past SP3. The SP4 is the beta for the multiplayer version and with that version compatibility mode is removed.

I thought it was TS2009 that lost Compatibility Mode with SP4. Silly me.
