How to get refund for FCT?

Hi, not being able to download anything from CMP so i'm wanting to get a refund for my FCT.
anyone know how to do this

As far as I know, there are no refunds for the purchase of an FCT.

What kind of issues are you having? There are things that are easily resolved if you contact the helpdesk, or even post in the forums what your problems are.

Remember though, check the "easy" things first such as firewall, network connection, as well as in CMP your password and username which should be the same as your current login.

I'm getting an error 'Unknown content error' and i've sent request to help desk, been waiting for a response... made a thread which hasn't helped at all..
I'm able to download directly from FCT but this is very slow when I have to download a lot of dependencies on assets.
anyway i've ruled out firewall problem, and password/username problem(reset my password too)
When I did a network diagnostics in CMP I got these 4 errors..

Error: Download failed - error 8.
Error: Test 'ftp dls' failed.
Error: Download failed - error 8.
Error: Test 'ftp firstclass' failed.


is there really no way to get a refund? because this problem doesn't seem to be able to be solved

This definitely sounds like there's something wrong with your network connection to the the Download Station (DLS). I have made the errors bold.

What operating system are you running? This will help us troubleshoot your problem as it will give us a direction to go in. Windows XP has a different, but similar way of doing things than Windows Vista (yuck) or Windows 7. Both of these latter OSs need Administrator rights to perform the diagnostics. In fact we recommend that you run both Trainz and CMP in Administrator mode. This solves a multitude of problems.

As far as your refund. I am sure this is correct. Hopefully others will dive in and help you with this. Shane Turner maybe sleeping right now, but he's the one with the "tools" that'll help you resolve your problem.

I have checked the ticket myself and have seen a reply by Zec - made today about 2 hours ago. You may wish to check this and see if this will help resolve your issue.

It means your firewall isn't totally micromanaging your network connections, and the issue is likely with the Trainz applications themselves. Can you allow everything in your Trainz directory blanket permission to access the web? Specifically, contentmanager.exe, taddaemon.exe, etc.? Different firewalls do things different ways. Failing that, can you try temporarily disabling your firewall?

FYI, I'm going to sleep soon, hence my recommendation to try to disable the firewall entirely. I don't recommend this if you have a direct connection to the internet or if you have other machines on your local network that may have malware running on them, though, but if you are behind a home/DSL router, you're probably ok.

You can get the DLS to work ... PM me ... There are no refunds at the Chinese All You Can Eat Sushi Bar ... Trainz is no different ... usually (if not always) the problem is at the End Users PC ... I might be able to help setting up Antivirus-"Allowable Program Exception Rules" ... etc ...

If I Kan't help ... double your money back ... wait ... you haven't paid me nuthin' ... OK ... My advice is FREE !

Windows 7. I'm the administrator

Makes no Difference as the Administrator account is crippled, forget XP and how that worked as it's all changed, an Admin account is virtually useless as you are not allowed access to the tools required for many of the functions available in XP, many no longer exist in Win7 HP. You need to set the program to Run as administrator.
Select program right click, run this program as administrator or set it up in the programs properties under the compatibility tab. This has to be done even if you are running an Admin account and should preferably be done when you initially install the program and for each patch.

Did you clear your CMP downoad wish list ?

In Trainz/Start/Options, and Trainz/Start/Manage Content/Options ... Did you refresh your account by editing your UN & PW and save as "Blanked Out" ... shut down Trainz ... restart Trainz and re-enter your same identical UN & PW in the blanks ?

Did you click: "Activate FCT at Planet Auran ?

Did you edit your Profile at Planet Auran, and Edit your PW there ... and re-enter the same identical PW, and save ... and also save your profile making no changes ?

my cmp is also not downloading anything from last 9 days.whenever i press start it says unable to download .server appears to be full
 
Yes I did everything you told me to and I'm still having this problem i've done everything everyone has told me to and now im here waiting for another reply from helpdesk that will not help me at all.

The blanking out, and SAVE as blank lines, is the key ... shut down Trainz, completely ... restart Trainz ... re-enter UN & PW in the blanks, SAVE ... shut down Trainz, completely ... restart Trainz.

Also in your Planet Auran PW ... re-enter PW in the blanks, SAVE.

Also SAVE your profile, unedited, as is.

If you click activate FCT at Planet Auran, it should activate.
