How to do scenery?

Is there a basic guide for scenery? Making realistic routes is one of my goals
I am very bad at scenery, and need help.

Work in small areas and have patience. Landscaping can take up most of your time as you are building a route. Use Alt-Y to get in close to the ground to see what the scene will look when looking out the cab window. Use this tool also to look for stupid things as trees in the tracks, floating roads, tracks, crooked tracks, other annoyances.
