How to attribute textures?

Still here... lurking
I am currently upgrading colorado71's NKP 765 into the way the real one looks now. I saw that the number_plate.tga is found in three spots on the body. I was wondering if I could make the side numberboards by the headlight different but leave the front the same. Is there a possible way to do this?

If they are separate objects, you can edit the texture file for it just like you do any other texture.

Okay, in the shot I provided, The ones I want to paint are crossed out in red, but the one I want to keep is circled green.

You would need the origin mesh to apply a different texture to the one you want to keep.

I suppose you could place a blank plate over the other two via new attachment points using PEVs utilities. I've never needed to do that but I'm sure others can help you with the details of the process.

Sorry to bump, but this time I found a texture that is perfect, but I am trying to get it to move to the mesh folder i.e. it is in a different folder. How do I make add textures on a certain part of the body?
