How many blocks = a mile

If you are referring to the baseboards, they are 720 metres square

In Surveyor you have a ruler, you can measure any distance you require

Hi,

Just to add --

1 mile = 1 609.344 meters

or USA 1 mile = 5 280 feet

You can then use the ruler in trainz --

ALSO, check out the DLS -- type user name:
Beadyboy

Download all of his measurement templates, which make it easy to measure distances and curves as well

Have fun :)

Say thanks for all the help I just wasen't sure how to measure ot a mile on the baseboard all will be very helpful...
and I just down loaded beadyboy and will have a look at it...
Jim

also if you want to measure track distance around curves and stuff you could make a consist out on a straight track that is one mile long...then save it. You can then move it around anywhere you want on the tracks.

Train horn at crossing

How do you get a train to blow its horn as it is approching a crossing as it would do in real life. I would like to have it work at all my crossings...

Jim

BNSF50 has a whistle board that sounds the AI horn as it passes. On the DLS here. There is also a left-side version and an invisible version. IIRC there is also a set with 'W' rather than 'X'

Not sure what versions it is in, but TS2010 comes with Hornz driver command which tells the train to blow it's horn. To use that for a crossing you'd probably need to put a trackmark at a crossing, do navigate via trackmark, and put Hornz after the navigate command. (Or drive via trackmark for TS2006 and older)
