How do I make the train go right?

I'm going nuts. I have a track which curves back onto itself, making a simple balloon track. I want the train to go to the right at the switch and round the balloon counterclockwise. The track directions are all in that direction. I've added direction markers to the track enforcing that direction. I've put track markers in the loop and told the train to go to the one on the right, then the one on the left. And none of this makes the train go right. Instead, it goes left, goes three fourths of the way around the loop, then reverses and backs out.

Is there any what to make the stupid thing go the direction I want?

Welcome to the wonderful world of AI.

One obvious question, does the shortest arc distance from the 1st to the 2nd track marker follow in the same direction as you want the train to travel (i.e. anti-clockwise)? The Trainz AI will sometimes ignore direction markers when they conflict with navigate/drive to commands.

Also have you placed some signals (even invisible ones) along the route so that the driver does not see his own tail up ahead?

G'day,

Make the train join the "T Party" and it will never go left again.:hehe:

Seriously use the yelow direction markers at the entrance of the return loop.

Have a good one,

I have a suggestion that may work for your situation. I have had the same type of trouble you are mentioning.

You could put two trackmarks on your loop. In my example, I will call them "Loop Left" (On the left side of the loop) and "Loop Right" (On the right side of the loop). Give trains commands of "Drive Via Trackmark Loop Right", "Drive Via Trackmark Loop Left" for trains going counterclockwise through the loop. Of course, you could reverse the commands for trains you want to go through clockwise.
