How do I get rid of *literal* foreign locomotives?

Point, Click Destruction!
Alright, don't get me wrong, the default foreign Auran models are very nicely made.(European, Russian, Ukrainian, Germanic, Australian, etc....) But I wanted to know if there was a way to disable them or something of that nature so I don't have to scroll so much to get to a certain America type of rollingstock or locomotive. Any help is appreciated! :)

I do think Auran should consider making 'regionalised' versions of Trainz that include locomotives and stock primarily from one country as well as the 'full' game where it has everything. My interest is British railways and although I'm not narrow minded (ie "British or nothing"), I get frustrated by the amount of US, Chinese, Russian etc stock. It just seems to me that it uses up a heck of a lot of storage space for no benefit to me. Especially as you can't search by favourites in Mac.

This game needs less regional versions, not more.
Some (if not all) regional versions are still waiting for their SP1 and the versions can not join each other in multiplayer, just to name a few problems.
More regional versions also means more time wasted by N3V on making them where they can better invest that time in making 1 (better) working version.

And if you do not like content, disable it in Content Manager before you get frustrated.

But who decides what "regional" means? I live in the USA, but I sometimes like to operate trains in other countries. I particularly like to operate Chinese trans because I ride them often. I actually would like to see more Chinese stuff.

oknotsen: does that mean we would have to do each one individually or is there a way we can use the CM search function to do it in large groups? When they are disabled are they then removed from appearing in the Tabs in surveyor? I'm interested in disabling large groups of locos and rolling stock that I don't use from the Surveyor tab as they take so long to scroll through and because of the small size of the menu windows, are not easy to read.

CM search includes Category :Locomotive and Region :China (for example). Then you can select all (Ctrl + A), right click and Disable. Or, select all locomotives, Disable all, then select US locomotives and Enable all.

Alternately, Use FAVORITES (or FAVOURITES if you are English/Australian) to choose only those locos & rolling stock you want. Then when adding to a session just toggle the view to favorites only and the rest are removed from the list. This way you can define your favorites down to a particular RR. eg ATSF, UP, etc and the rolling stock to match.

I have to note that not all material is flagged under the correct region. Some material is not flagged at all as part of a region.

Example:
Loco UP 0-6-0 #4609 TS2010,<kuid2:69871:2061:3>

RailSim tried regionalization on the first release and it was terrible.....even if you dont like the trains many of the scenery items are very useful. I do think though that the option to delete unwanted default content would be nice and have it hosted on the DLS like past built in has been so you could redowload it if needed later.

Would agree with thread starter, took me ages to disable all loco's outside of the UK.As already mentioned it's not that I don't like stuff from other countries,it's a sheer pain having to wade through
items I'm never going to use.I would also like the option to delete items for good, built in or not,let ME decide what lies on my hard drive and what items I want enabled.

It's understood that some of the less computer savy COULD delete by accident,a 2 stage process would be clear, delete item Y/N,are you sure you want to delete Y/N.Forcing user's to keep
stuff is just wrong, let the user decide.

In surveyor? You can! Open the content search filter and add Rating = 5 stars.

If you only build and run your own routes, then having a limited selection is fine. CM makes it easy to disable content so it doesn't appear in the Surveyor lists. In fact, disable everything in one sweep and only re-enable a small selection if that is all you need.

Of course if you download a route, you never know what the creator put in it. Since many objects can easily be used in other regions than what they were designed for, it is hard to predict if you will need them or not based only on the region of origin.

Me? Since most of my routes are my own, I can safely disable most engines and rolling stock that doesn't interest me. Other scenery is divided into My Own content and My Favourites to make selection lists smaller and easier to navigate.

No need to have regional editions with all the problems that entails when CM provides all the tools you need to make your own personalized custom edition.

If disabling locos and rolling stock prevents them for appearing in Surveyor, Will disabling routes in CM prevent them from appearing in the route menu list? If so, will it work with built-in ones like the older 2007 ones that are in 2010, but cant be deleted otherwise?
