How do i create realistic turnouts like this image? note: the joints have some sort of guide

Is this a track object that is added to the track, if so what is it called?

I played around with them ... most of these screenshots are wrong though

Short answer - with great difficulty, I'm afraid, if you want to have moving switches and correctly placed wing rails etc.

The best turnouts I have found are by "Andi06" (they can be found on the DLS).

They have limitations, but they are animated and you can modify the look of the track/ballast (or add your own - which takes a bit of work !! ).

Yes, the turnout frog detail is a pair of trackside objects by norfolksouthern37:

Turnout Frog Left: Kuid2:45324:26001:1
Turnout Frog Right: Kuid2:45324:26002:1

Both on the DLS.

They need to be placed individually and nudged into the correct spot (and if you lay track like I do, at lease one of them always needs rotated) which is all a bit time consuming but worth it. They dress spline track turnouts up no end...
