How can I use a Consist List after it is Created?

I have figured out how to create my own consists using Global Consist Library in Surveyor. The problem now is, everytime I want to use the consists I created, the original default list is the only one available. How can I view my own consist lists?

Create the consist in surveyor, then select the consist tab and click the left icon to grab your new consist. Give it a name and it should then appear in the list. It will also show up in the own content tab of CMP.

2 tabs at the top where you place a loco or wagon in surveyor, the right side 1 is for consists. Place consist then select right tab (consist) use the ? bottom right of window and select a name in the window that opens and save.

I am not able to get this to work. I can create a consist in the Global Consist Library, and I can set it as current. I know it is saved there, because I can leave the TrainZ program, then return, and my consist list is still there, and still set as current.

When I go to the Trains tab on the right side in Surveyor, and click on the right button for consist mode, only the original default list is there. There is no question mark to click on, as indicated above.

In Surveyor with the Trainz tab selected, place a loco and cars to create a new consist. Then press G to select consist mode and left click on your new consist. A small window opens where you can enter the name of your new consist. Save and it should now show up in the consist list.

I do believe that he is not actually talking about the ability to create a new train in the surveyor I understand what he is asking as I would liek to do this too...

OK he and I would like to know how to set the consists in the global consist library.. OK i you create a train in surveyor and then open the consist library, create a new consist list, set is as current.. then leave global and go back to surveyor, go to consist tab on the right.. and I find only the default consist list in it..

can you help... ( I hope I'm not he one that's off on this) LOL If I am can someone tell me what I ask???)

I think what you need to do is make the conisit in surveyor. Click on consist mode, click on ? mark. Give it a name. It will show up in the consist list. Now you can add it to your list.

just muddying the waters

You set the consists up as advised in surveyor, once you've named and saved them they are available in the Global consist library data.
Say your using quick portal manager v3, once you get to today's schedule make sure the surveyor list is enabled, to the right of that you select any consist you have saved.
If you have a portal set to emit at regular intervals, when you set up a new consist the option to use a saved consist is there also.

Possible more muddy water

I think the the global consist library is a different listing than saving consists with the Trainz car placement tab's consist mode. Personally, I do not use the global consist library. I create consists on my route using the Trainz car placement tab's consist mode so I can see the cars I am placing and then I save them as a standard consist. Make sure your search filter is turned off or you may not see them in the selection window after you have save them. All the portals and portal managers can use consists saved in this manner. Not all portals or portal managers can access consists stored in the global consist library.

Thank you fgor all of your help.

Targanon is having the same problem I am. Possibly it is best to do as Dap suggested and not use Global Consist Libray (I can't figure out how to use it anyway). Dap, Fran1, Danny5, and Bob Weber, I will try your methods.

I just tried it and it works fine.
