How can I change KUID of my own content?

I would like to change the last section of my kuid to mean more to me. Example I have 2 versions of the same route. one is based in the 1950's and one is more modern. I would like to change the kuid from <kuid:650028:10xxxx> to <kuid:650028:101950> and <kuid:650028:102010> respectively. Is that possible? And yes, 650028 is my username number. Thanks in Advance.

Open the asset for editing,
Change the kuid to what you like it to be,
Save the config file but do not commit the asset,
Go to File/Import Content,
Browse to your game folder, UserData, Editing.
Import the content,
Revert the edited original.

Done.

One small change I would suggest to oknotsen's advice is when you open the asset for edit, copy the asset folder elsewhere and work/import from that copy. This will allow you to revert the original (unmodified) version and avoid errors relating to the config having the wrong KUID.

No need for that Shane. To revert, the content of that folder is not relevant.
I follow the steps I wrote on a daily bases without ever having had any problems :).

I'm working on previous experience myself, including advice given elsewhere on the forum. Importing from the Editing folder is not a wise idea as it can cause problems.

Problems such as?

Copying the folder to elsewhere does not change the content of the folder, so it still is importing from a folder and works the same. If you experienced problems, I doubt they had to do with the actual import process and probably more to do with permissions in Windows or having locked files by other editors, so I am curious what these problems have been.

I have always used the method of moving the config file to the desktop, make the changes to the config then copy it back to the asset and commit and never had any problems with it.
cheers,
Mike
