How big is your asset database?

- how much do you think the asset database can run up to? im thinking it could be 100 gb

My main TRS2006 SP1 local folder has 292 gigs of content in it. And yes, you are reading right "292" About 35 gigs (approx) is 3rd party content not on the DLS... (47 gigs downloaded from 3rd party sites over the last 4-5 years of which case, only about 25% - 30% of that is on the DLS). - There's a truck load of 3rd party content out there that's not on the DLS. Total 2006 directory size is 304 gigs. (that includes saved routes & sessions)...

I haven't posted this to boast. I posted this because over the years I have got sick of a small number of the community continually knocking and whining about TRS2006 & 06 CMP. I still regularly build (& run routes) in my main TRS2006, and continue to install, 04 & 06 content into it...

If 06 (& 06 CMP) is stuffed, as some people continually whine about, how come I have managed to download (& or import) so much content into it using CMP & how come 06 still runs fine with such a large local folder ???
Posted for the benefit of the 06 knockers...
Happy Trainzing.
Cheers, Mac...

Are you asking for how much space trainz takes up on a hard drive or how big is your asset.tdx file is????

There is a big diffrence between how much content you have and how big is your data base file ?????

182GB is the amount of space used to store content on my trainz drive

I have spent the last month (or more) trying to cut down on everything because it's out of control. I have not worked on a route seriously for that time. Spending time getting rid of unwanted assets, routes, sessions, repairing assets has kept me busy. Guess what! It,s still 28.8 gig with 291,000+ files. OH BROTHER. I can see another 5 gig going but being replaced by new assets as they come on the DLS. I have made the rule, nothing under 2.5. In my dreams.
