Hot fix Craziness!

Clancy2012

Rail Rider
Hi all,

Ok, I have patched TS12 to the last hotfix 3 patch. The game loads fine, however all my addon content from the past year is gone, both freeware and payware. The launcher offers to redownload all purchased content, my serial numbers are intact on my profile. I have a first class ticket which does not expire until November 2013 and the launcher claims the payware is not in the directory.

I had a copy of all my original payware files, reinstalled them, to which I get an installed successfully message, and they still will not show up on the available routes, same goes for my payware add on trains like the Duchess. I am left with the basic TS 12 package, nothing else. This is driving me round the bend. In case of corrupt files I uninstalled everything, did a brand new install and still the same result. Can anyone save me from eating my keyboard??? Help desk are unable to solve it.

Thanks in advance,

Clancy

Hi Clancy,

Keyboards don't usually taste good unless they're made of chocolate! ;)

This is annoying, but it's the 'new' way of doing things. The program will download and update some files for you, rendering your old serial number (as entered) invalid. This will no longer be needed for the content to run. The program is, however, verifying your serial number because you've registered it on Planet Auran where the program will look to see what you have installed.

Now, the downloads can take a very, very long time, and sometimes can be corrupt. The current remedy is to download one at a time. They'll all start, so cancel all but one, let it finish, then go to the download content tab and choose redownload. Cancel the one you downloaded, and repeat for anything else. (Ouch!)

As far as content not showing up...

Have you gone into Content Manager to see if anything is faulty? I recommend viewing errors and warnings on the content. This will sometimes clear the list after the database repair ran during the upgrade. Any content left over there, needs to be repaired. There has been some content repairs done by the community while stuff still needs to be updated. If there is anything broken in your install, post the errors here and one of us can help you. Most of the time, the stuff is an easy fix anyway.

Hope this helps in a somewhat roundabout way.

Hi John,
Yeah I am gonna hold off on keyboard munching till I can't take no more lol.

If I look on content manager I can see my addons, no errors. this are payware. I can see my payware trains in railyard. When i select the routes selector, just standard ts 12 routs show, nothing else. Missing dependencies list 9 minor ones, all relating to a JR addon on, nothing major there.

I will try that download suggestion though for the next hour and see what happens. Thanks buddy,

Clancy

Clancy, in Railyard check that the "Only show favourites" star is toggled to "show all content". Perhaps the patch or hotfix(es) reset it to default "Only show favourite content".

Hope this helps, but you probably knew this already.

Hi Ken,

Naw, that bit is fine. Its when I press route selector on the launcher menu that nothing shows up. I am still no closer to solving it. Tried all John's tips above too and the help desk have no idea either!

May be doing validation of assets before it has a full list of routes to show you. If you have your process windows showing you could see this being done. This can take a very long time the first time.

I think you may have to download any N3V payware content again. I think that this stuff wont work after SP1 if you don't do that, at least that's what windwlkr reckoned after SP1 release. Also applies to N3V routes like S&C. Reason why I haven't installed SP1.
