Horn looping help

Hey all I need some help on looping a horn for trainz. I have a K5LA horn sound file. I'm using audacity. How can I loop a horn by using audaucity? I need some instructions.

Tyler

Are you looping the track to make a hornsound? because if so, all you need to do is crop the horn to the part that you would like then save it a wav. file with the name " horn_loop " and the game will automaticly loop that section of the horn...

do you understand what file you need to create in order to make a hornsound? If you dont, i can explain

I kinda don't understand it. I never used auduacity or any audio recorder program before. I used to use sound recorder to loop horns but it doesn't let me loop horns now. So can you explain the instructions please?

OK, when making a hornsound for trainz, a file will consist of these parts:

1. horn =the complete hornsound clip

2. horn_loop = this will be the edited part of the horn that will replay when the horn key is held

3. horn_ start =this will be the part of the horn before the looped section, this will typically be the beginning of the horn, and will not loop in the game

4. idle =this is the bell sound file, and will loop in the game

<all the files above are wav. files, and when put into the folder of the hornsound asset in TRAINZ, should use those exact names>

to open the folder for your hornsound asset in TRAINZ, right click on the asset, and select the "edit in explorer" option under edit. this will open the assets file, and allow you to add content

continued

The important thing to remember is that the audio that you want to loop does not need to be edtited to do so, all that is needed is the sound clip of the part that you desire to repeat, and trainz will take care rest..........

{I recommend you open an allready made hornsound asset file and listen to the wav. files, to better understand how you need to cut up the horn}

Ok now heres a problem

I used GoldWave to loop the NS horns I made and now when i sound them in trainz, they won't work outside the cab. The Amtrak K5LAs I made work fine. How can I fix this problem using GoldWave?

Make sure they are MONO. Stereo sounds will not work outside the cab.
