HO Scale BLI Paragon1 C&O t-1 2-10-4

All I know about the HO scale C&O T-1 2-10-4 from BLI (in terms of length and operation on curves) is that it operates on a radius (minimum) of 24".

but....

I saw a video of that locomotive made by a person with the username "GP30RDMT". He was running it on a 4x8 layout (according to a video BEFORE that). And the largest radius curves on a 4x8 layout is 22" radius.

Does this mean that the C&O T-1 2-10-4 (from BLI's Paragon 1 series) can run on 22" radius curves also?

Because I might be thinking about buying one, but that is a very long way ahead. Because I already spent my money on my NCE Power Cab and an Athearn Genesis SD70ACe.

Any help from anybody in the forum would be greatly appreciated.

It's off by two degrees so it should not matter. And if it doesn't fit you still have a very nice loco.

I mean sure it can work you know how people ballpark the area it will work and what not. I mean example my computer says comes with 500gb hard drive, well I look at how much I have and it says 451 it holds. Never expect what they say to be perfect but that does not mean that a 18 curve will work that will not work for sure here.

Two things, first it maybe 24" for an "S" and 22" for a "C", second he may have modified it, I use to do that to street cars, go from 18" to 6".

The radiuses posted for model trains are usually recommended minimums. I have an HO scale Blueline Big Boy. They tell you not to run it on anything less than 22" curves, but it has been able to take 18" curves with little fuss. Even so, I wouldn't run it on curves that sharp regularly. It could damage the model after repeated use, and quite frankly it just doesn't look right.
