I've a request I need help , my system is running Windows 7 64 bit , I have a 2 gig graphics card .
I have been having major problems with the game TS12.
A few things I've tried
Running the software under XP service pack 3 as advised by some one n here (didn't work )
I've also tried installing Direct X 9, I have Direct X 11 installed....

I downloaded the service pack and got a virus, Microsoft say there is known compatibilities with TS12 and Windows Vista/7 and 8
I did try the help desk but chocolate fire guards com to mind .

So please anyone Help

For the benefit of those who haven't read your forum post, can you specify exactly what issues you are having?

Regarding the service pack, all N3V-supplied service packs should not contain viruses, so it may be that your virus checker is causing problems on that front.

As for Microsoft, they can only work from error reports sent to them, which are usually from users who haven't got their game set up properly.

TS12 runs ok with win7 64 bit. You have to run trainz as admin or you'll have problems.
You have to have dx9c redistributable for trainz to run regardless if you have dx11. get it from the link below.

My advice is to stick at build 49922. Microsoft talk cobblers, vista was a load of junk.

I know nothing works with Windows vista, I have been advised to upgrade my memory and CPU, I have P4 extreme. Thanks

You need a duel core PCU and 8gbs of ram if you wont to fun TR12 with SP1
What is your PS Stats ?

I run TS2012 SP1 HF4 on Vista with no problems. When you tried installing the service pack you need to turn off your firewall so it will install properly.

This is not the case. I run TS12 on Vista and it works OK but I prefer TS2009. I also run plenty of other software/games on Vista without a problem and my system is hardly 'top end'

Like the OP I run Win 7 64 bit but with no problems at all. While I do agree that you need dx9 whether you have dx11 or not, Im in a minority about turning off virus protectors and turning on administration. Up till now I have never had to turn off my virus protector and Ive never had to resort to using administrator to run TS12 either. I dont know why I can achieve running the game like this when just about everyone else states you must use admin etc.
I can however confirm that it runs well under win 7 64bit - though due to it being a 32bit program it under uses the resources.
So I know its not an issue with conflict with Win 7. Can you be more specific about the problems you are having?

If the OP is going to download DirectX 9c Redistributable, I recommend he does so via the official Microsoft installer:

Also be aware that installing the redistributable version requires a two part process, and both parts must be done to install it. If you are not comfortable looking for extracted files, my DXInstallHelper tool can sort it, and is in a sticky in this forum.

Its quit working, I've done everything I was advised to do by folk on here .I've had enough of the hassle . Its getting uninstalled and put where it belongs the trash can .I can run Microsoft's "Flying Scotsman " sim but I' sick of error messages d my computer crashing My gaphics card driver is up to date . I believe I got a dodgy disk half the rolling stock is missing, I have none of the routes. It has to be the most costly DVD/PC Rom disk I have ever bought .

What other option is available to me ?

Have you tried doing a database repair, and turning off the favourites feature?

I have 2 discs for TS12. You only have 1 or was it a typo ?

the option - like I said earlier is to describe exactly what the error is. If you have an error code post it on here. So far I have not seen any problem described. Some of us would really like to help but we need more information.
