Is there a Service Pack 1 for the Steam version of Trainz 2009? Currently Service Pack 1 Installation gives me this issue:

Code:
This patch file is not applicable to your current installation version.
(Build hash: 853a883828293a37a10824f0ba099cf9)

No valid patch operation was specified. Patching aborted.
I presume it's to do with me having bought it through Steam.

If it's necessary to know my computer did pass through all the tests of the diagnosis and I did have the correct path specified.

I just noticed it's in the wrong place, but it's because I wasn't logged in when browsing the forums (I'd thought I was). I did then have to log in when posting this topic but thought nothing of it. Sorry.

As far as I was aware the version on Steam should automatically be updated by Steam as they change the .exe file to thier copy protection system.

I know this is reviving an old thread but does anyone else out there have Trainz purchased from Steam?

There are four service packs available for TRS2009 non of which are compatible with the Steam version.

Upon sending a ticket to Steam support, all they will say is it is not their responsibility to provide the correct service packs, it is up to Auran. Something which I question as I believe as they provide a differing version of the software the responsibility falls on them.

They are trying to say they have not had permission to release any service packs therefore cannot, yet that leaves myself in the position of owning a copy of Trainz which for all intents and purposes is almost unplayable.

What do other people think about this.

I got the 2010 version of Trainz from steam and it's not the latest version and I've had trouble trying to install sp3 from here this might explain why and yeah I think it stinks due to fact we got it from steam and won't be able to update it. But I'm sure I read somewhere sorry I can't remember where but they are going to do automatic updates soon. Some where on hear I read it but I don't no if that will include steam. I'm new and also worried I paid 30 quid for somthing and it can't be updated, I'm gonna have to write to steam and Auran to find out.
