If you had errors during the patching process, it's likely that it did not patch correctly, even if it said it did (unless it was errors like 'asset does not match database record' (the kind you get during a normal database repair).

apparently everything works now, I am finding out but I am pretty sure patching fixed it

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. If it is working, you may well be lucky.

as of now it is trying to validate the content. I am hoping it works, and I would never leave completely, more like a "vacation"

Ah - the 'extended leave' I frequently hear people say on these forums.

Be aware that the validation will take a while to do, possibly hours.

Validation would take MINUTES if you put it on a Solid State Drive.

I patched Trainz and after that it was all fine
