Help, please. Unable to import TS-12-created route into TANE SP4

In the past, I have been able to bring in TS-12 routes/sessions in earlier SP editions of TANE but not SP4. I could bring only the session in via CDP and it lists in CM as faulty. The route won't come in, however. Is there a method to do this properly? Here is a screenshot of the errors and warnings regarding the faulty session that came in. The route and session, as usual, were bundled together in the same CDP. TANE SP4 doesn't like my content for some reason. Do I need to first bring T2 12 routes/sessions into TANE SP1 then over to TANE SP4?

The session probably won't load because the route doesn't exist.

Try this method, which has worked for me countless times:

1) Replace any old Speed Trees with billboard trees, or RMM's Speed Trees because he has a direct update for them in TANE and up. Clam1952's billboard trees will work for this fine and are quite nice, and work well in TANE.

2) Export just the route to a CDP.

3) Import the route.

4) Download any missing dependencies.
There are still going to be some missing dependencies such as custom ones and built-ins. The built-in should be there in TANE since many were exported if not all. The only ones not will be DLC.

........

Once the route has been imported, import the session. The session shouldn't have as many issues, just ensure you have all the consists installed.

I did have Alpine spline-1,<kuid2:33404:501494:3> by dmdrake installed on my TS 12 route and all the other trees are static: mostly pine and hemlock. Are these "speed trees"? In the past, I had no tree spline content on successful 12 to TANE imports.

The search bar CM in TS 12 doesn't recognize Clam1952. I'll try to download RMM trees.

The session does come over but not the route. I'll try changing trees to see what happens. 10-10 on the side, good buddy.

A while later. I was not able to bring in the route alone either. Do I need to change something in the config for the route? RMM trees are static. The un-TANE-importable route in question certainly does exist in TS 12. I spend the last two months building it.

My TS-12-produced route in the context of SP4 is "un-a-TANE-able".

The RMM Trees are Speed Trees. They don't blow in the wind, but they are Speed Trees and look pretty reasonable. The good news is they transfer nicely. I forgot to mention one step. Install these first in TANE.

Now, if you have trouble bringing in the route, then there's something else going on. Like something getting munched and corrupting the route and session files.

How much disk space do you have left?

Is your antivirus scanning those folders? Try excluding your antivirus from real-time scanning anything related to Trainz because antivirus will wreak havoc on your files in every which way it can including corrupting data as its being written to CDP files as well as stomping on service packs, asset loading, and a lot of other things that can cause weird unexplained Trainzing issues.

Yes there is. If you are running Windows 10, then Microsoft Defender is installed automatically. Go into Settings (I can't remember the exact words so bear with me on this), click on Privacy and Security, Windows Security, then Virus Proctection.

Look for Virus and threat protection settings and click on Manage settings.

Scroll down to Exclusions and exclude all Trainz stuff from real-time scans.

If this doesn't do it, then there's something else that's causing the issue.

By the way, anything by dmdrake is unlikely to be a speed tree, as his is very old stuff. Can't see any obvious reason for your problem, as numerous people import from TS12 into Tane. However SP4 is NOT backwards compatible with earlier versions of TANE, so keep that in mind.

I'm reinstalling TANE. This time, I will try to import the TS 2012 route FIRST before its dependencies. I have deleted the target folder and the UserData folder before reinstall.

JCitron, voila!, I finally got my 2012 route into TANE with its associated session.

I first deleted all N3V and UserData folders related to TANE on the hard drive then did a clean reinstall. Yes, my new PC is now running Windows 10. I then went into Virus and threat protection/Manage settings /Exclusions. All folders associated with Trainz, TANE and TS 12, on my hard drive are now "excluded". Now, I am importing route/session dependencies from CDP. Some may have to be downloaded from DLS.

I finally figured it out. I have to open both the route and session up in Tane Surveyor and make a small edit to each. The build versions of both go from 3.7 to 4.5. Then I add/fix all the dependencies until both the route and session list in CM in black font as opposed to red. Then the route sticks to TANE for good.

I'm glad you got it working. The most befuddling things usually turn out to be caused by something simple. I ran into ab interesting issue some time ago with Vipre antivirus. That product was quite good, but didn't like the old Content Manager in TS12 and stomped on it by killing TADDaemon dead and corrupted my content.

I have another thread on setting up a helper scenario. Stagecoach sent me a demo. I finally got it loaded into TANE and checked it out. His demo uses the following commands:

-Post Message
-Wait for message and clear
-Couple at trackmark
-UnCouplez from (vehicle number)
-Move to train at trackmark

I downloaded these and I'm testing these out on my own route now.
