help needed with win7 install problem

i have this problem in that whenever i stop to put in the registration numbers,
then win7 turns it off for me

it even does this to trains

could that be why my installation is not running like it should?

Hi Ron,

This sounds like a memory problem. Is the computer running very warm? The heat can cause issues like this. I say this because it is your warmer time of year, unlike us up here near the North Pole.

Ron,
The ambient temperature in the room does not reflect your CPU temperature. The CPU runs really hot, normally around 55 deg C at room temperature. Google for some free CPU temperature motnitoring utility, run Trainz or another intensive program and see how hot the CPU is running.
I had to buy an upgraded cooling unit when I found my CPU running near 100 deg C a while back. Overtemp will cause all sorts of problems.
The same goes for the GPU on the graphics card in extreme circumstances.

When you installed Trainz did you turn of your virus protection? And when you launch Trainz you need to select "Run as administrator". You should also check your available memory. If it is full or nearly full you need more. I had the memory problem and had to move Trainz to the data hardrive which has a huge amount. Getting 100% green ticks when you install Trainz may not tell the full story.
