Help needed with JR engines

gp792

Butner Lines Railroad Co.
Ok, I'm missing some dependencies and have a few faulty ones with my BN SD70MAC. Until today, it has been safe in my folder for payware (with my sd45s) on my computer. The EMD wide cab ph1 (and rear) wipers and the cab shell are marked as faulty. Where do I look on JR for the needed dependencies?

Well, the wipers are fixed, but the cab shell is displaying an error: the tag 'image' in '0' points to a nonexistent file: 'speedo.tga'. I'm at a complete loss of what to do. I bought this engine a few years ago, in 2011. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I did a search of and found speedo.tga in my trz backup folder

norfolksouthern37, the asset that is faulty is kuid2:45324:91300:1, which is the BN SD70MAC Shell.

If its with the shell, you may have to go in and edit the config and just take out what is in between the thumbnails tag so the only thing you will have left is the following:

Code:
thumbnails
{

}

I think this was a issue with the new update with trainz causing issues with thumbnails that do have a path or a image at the end of the path listed. Its a simple fix once you do that and commit you should be good to go!

Actually if you go to the payware page for this unit you'll see there is a SP1 Update noted under the Download Link area. This is a fixed shell, so all you have to do is download, overwrite and commit that asset and youll be all set. This is providing you've also grabbed the SP1 Updates under the dependencies area.

See i did that but was still having the issue, maybe my did not 100% commit! Ill give that a try.

I would say 90% of the faulty assets I find have this particular problem.

Thumbnail errors are pretty common in the latest build of TS12. They are fairly easy to correct, either in Explorer or Content Creator Plus. I use CCP for these as it will sometimes register other errors as you save the config file.

To fix in CCP, start by expanding the asset tree on the left side. In the expanded tree, you can see an entry labeled "Thumbnails". Thumbnails should also have an individual extension below it with a -0 string. Some Thumbnail extensions have more than one thumbnail (& thumbnail extension string...1, 2, etc.) and so you will have to look at the error message again to determine which line is faulty. Some assets have 2 thumbnails in which one is legit and the other is non-existant.

Now that you've identified where the problem thumbnail image is located in the config, it is time to delete that section. In CCP, right-click the little extension line next to the "0". A box will come up with a small list of options; the option you want to choose is "Remove". By removing the "0" (or 1, 2, etc.) line that was causing the error, you should now be able to save the config and commit the asset. Eliminating the thumbnail image will not cause any harm to the asset, but there will be no thumbnail image in the Asset Details section of the Content Manager.

If you delete the entire Thumbnails container by accident, you can right-click the top line of the asset tree in CCP and in the large box of options choose "Add Thumbnails Container" or something like that. This will add the thumbnails section back in, but it will also add the -0 string back in below it. You will have to right click the -0 extension to remove it.

All assets must have a Thumbnails container, but that container can be completely empty.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
