Help needed regarding correct usage of UK Semaphore Junction Signals

Building the Wisbech line
How do you get the UK semaphore junction (or branch) signals to work correctly so that when the junction is set for a branch line (leading off a main line), the lower junction or branch signal then operates to indicate that the turnout is set to the branch line? I'm placing the branch/junction signals at the approach to the branch line junction (as per prototype UK signalling practices for branch junctions), yet when either the main line or branch line is set on my route, only the higher main line signal operates, and the lower signal post doesn't. I have also tried using invisible signals to try and trigger the junction/branch signal but it makes no effect. Regards, Andy

Andy,
You need to place targets as in the link mentioned above.
USUALLY, if a signal is described as "Left branch" you need targets left and straight. A "right branch" requires targets straight and right. A three way junction requires all three.
Until recently the the arrangement of the signals on the post didn't matter as there were only the three target options.

The latest version of the script has a lot more variables, and the targets required are counted from the tallest signal on a post.

Chris.

Many thanks to both edh6 and to Chris for the valuable info on setting up junction signals properly so they control both the main line and the trailing branch connection. Now all I have to do is replace the colour light signals around the complicated / tangled junctions I have recently built on TS12. Re-doing on TS12 and in exact detail the real life ex G.E.R. March to Wisbech (1847 - 2001) rail line based on old maps and old photos I have in a few local railway books. Had loads of problems with doing this route on TS09, but now having tS12 makes it a lot easier to construct. Andy
