Help Finding Railroad Blueprints

GN1996

Not a real user title.
Hi, a few years ago, I found a website that had blueprints to all types of American locomotive. Unfortunately, I no longer know that site and have searched desperately to find it. I was wondering if anybody here has a site they go to get blueprints for locos or rollingstock. If you know of one, I would be very happy if you could share that info with me. I want to create content with these blueprints I seek, so any that you could share would help a bunch. Preferably, they have all the measurements for height, length, width, etc. Thanks to anybody who can help.

I would like to find blueprints for stuff like Great Northern 2-8-8-2's (if even possible) and 70 ton ore cars. I also would like to be able to see some blueprints for passenger cars, or just blueprints for Great Northern.

Are you thinking of the site, http://www.the-blueprints.com/? THis has a large collection of items, though not of the GN 2-8-8-2, and not necessarily what I would call blueprints. Most of the items seem to be side elevations, though I am not a member of the site, and it's possible that the top and end views are available to members. Best bet for drawings of the 2-8-8-2 would probably be to contact the principal US model railroad magazines, Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman. I would expect one of these would have run the drawings at some point, and that for a nominal fee, you could get a copy. While not blueprints, the website rrpicturearchives.net has photos of the GN ore cars, including this one http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1914581 which should make a good basis for a model. There are pictures of similar cars used in the Missabe fields, which should probably give enough information, and again, for these, too, the model railroad magazines may be able to provide (for a fee) drawings.

Yeah, I had discovered the-blueprints.com already and that wasn't what I was looking for. I would like to find front, side, rear, and top views of trains that also include the measurements for them. I may just measure one of my HO scale models and convert that to full size measurements though. But thanks for the ideas anyway mjolnir.

EDIT

The site I found at one point showed side and front views (with measurements) of all kinds of locomotives. It included everything from SW's to Dash 9's. It was a great site and it is really unfortunate that I lost it. It could have been really handy to content creators.
