Help finding a Coal Mine

If you want to load on the fly why not use a coal flood loader rather than a tipple?

Such as this one...

NSW Coal Loader <kuid:60723:100068>

Let me show what the problem is:
Image #1 one of Bendorsey's coal mines worked on by MSGSAPPER. The track is, what I call, 'connected' to the mine. The tracks are placed on the route at the same time as the mine. Any car on a train has to be stopped underneath the tipple to be loaded:

>snip<

In this case, individual interactive tracks have to be placed beneath the mine. This consumes time that I'd rather use to do other things.

Now that I've posted these pictures, I hope that this clears up what I'm trying to say with my posts on this thread.

Not to be a smart a** or anything (probably too late), but I'm with Dermmy on this one: As much time and efort as you have put into this thread, you could have already had the mine set up with the tracks under it. And lets face it, if you don't want to dedicate the time to it, is it really worth doing?

Second, if you like Ben's mine, ask Ben (he's a hell of a nice guy) to mod it so that it can be flood loaded or find another mine/loader that flood loads, see how it works, and mod Ben's mine yourself to work how you want it. Then upload it back to the DLS for everyone else to use. Ben has been real good about giving permission for that sort of thing.

How would I modify Bendorsey's mine to get it to my requirements? How difficult is it? Actually, I've never thought about modifying it.
Edit: I was able to remove the 'consumes' from the config file. Now I've got to figure out how to load the hoppers while the train is moving.

One more thing. This picture shows the area that I have available to place the coal mine. The cliff on the right side is actually the edge of the map. The track beside the electrical poles lead to a wye just out of the picture. I should have posted this up earlier:

I know that there is something in the config or script to adjust the speed that you can go through a loader, but I didn't dig too far into it last night. I would assume that Ben's have the speed set at 0. I know that Maddy's rail-barge transfer allows boats to load at up to 15mph. I looked at Ben's 3-track mine and at the NSW loader, but nothing jumped out of the config screaming at me. I didn't look at the scripts. Frankly, scripting is not my strong point. Maybe someone with a bit mor knowledge in that area can chime in.....

Jordon412,

I'm afraid I still don't see your problem. The Coal Mine Tipple in Picture #3 above does everything you have stated you want. Tracks are placed when you place the building, it loads on the fly up to 7mph., it does not consume coal, it has three loading tracks, it is buit in so anyone with TS12 will have it.

Where exactly is the problem? Why the worry about a VMD logo?

The only posible problem I can think of is that you want you route to be available to users who don't have TS12.

That VMD logo is the problem. I want the routes to be available for people who do not have Trainz 12. With that coal mine being only on Trainz 12, and not on the Download Station, I'm concerned that the coal mine was made specifically made for Trainz 12, just like the Mojave Sub route. Unless that coal mine can be found on another third-party website, and isn't payware (if someone offers structures as payware), I'm going to have to find another coal mine to replace it.

I think this is right but if you build the route in TS12 & upload it can only be downloaded by people with TS12 not an earlier version due to the Build number. If it's built in an earlier version ts4-ts6 for example it can be downloaded by anyone with the same or higher version

I understand. I've got Trainz 2010 also installed because they're backwards-compatible. I also can import stuff from Trainz 2010 that I may need for use on a route I'm building in Trainz 12. I don't think that you can build a route in Trainz 2010 using things built-in into Trainz 12. If that is possible, this might give me a larger variety of assests I can use on routes that are built-in Trainz 2010.

No, that's not actually true.

Hi jordon412,

Now I see the problem, you need a mine that will work in TRS2009 or 10. I have two versions of the CS Coal Mine that I have modified for TRS2009/10, one that will load Coal only and one that will load Iron Ore only. When I modified them I tried to get in touch with Christian Steurer the original author but did not have any luck. If I had managed to contact him I would have uploaded them to the DLS but alas I do not have permission.

Cheers,
