Help Downloading Trainz 2010

Inn

Mr.Inn
I'm currently just got Trainz 2010 because I want to be able to use the multi feature in the future.

I want to be clear on a few things..

There are (4 set up bins) Do I need to download them all?

Next, There are (Four Patches)

Do I need to download each of those sperate or no? Because I think I should just download everything at once and leave my computer on for a few hours.. Help is needed Thanks!

I downloaded 2010 when it first came out but I hated it so much that I switched back to 2006. I will continue using 2006 until 2010 Muti player comes out thats why I don't have the up to date patch..

Well this is no fun!

What about the latest patch? Do I need to download Patches 1-3 or just Patch #3?

Depends which version you have, probably only need one patch two at the most but I'd wait until you know which version the download is at.
2010 is a lot different now to when it came out by the way. ;)

I'm updating to Patch #3... It's currently.. like frozen half way through.. should I just wait it out?

Cheers

You have to. Otherwise you will corrupt the installation and have to start over from scratch. Let in run overnight. It is not frozen. Just checking and fixing "stuff".

Hi David,
Don't worry, that's what it does and can take hours. Just let it continue until it does its thing.... be patient and wait, otherwise you will corrupt the lot and then have to do it all over again.

A good hour is nothing to worry about. People have had successful patchings that have taken 7 or 8 hours, even more. In my case, it took 2-3 hours, and worked great :).

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but at this point we don't know how the final release of multi-player is going to work. As of now, purchasing 2010 only gives you access to the public beta. At this point, we don't yet know whether multi-player is going to be a feature implemented into 2010 or a new release.

As I recall, back when TrainzDev was still alive, most of the public beta versions of 2009 would expire after a certain date. The purchase of the full version of 2009 was still required even by those who beta tested.

Like I said, I don't know how the public release of multi-player is going to work, but I'd hate to see a bunch of angry "I bought 2010 for this and now I have to buy 2011!" threads popping up.
