HELP! Cant patch trainz!!

Hi guys im new to the forum and basicly only signed up so i could get some help from you guys.

Iv had trainz 12 for a while now but havent played it and now iv wanted to play it again i cant play because i need to patch my trainz to the newer version. In options i log into my Auran account and press PATCH. it comes back saying unable to validate this version with planet Auran please check your plantel Auran log in details. Im not sure if its not letting me log in or not. when i first bought the game it was working fine but because i missed out on all the updates this has happend. I have also tryed to download the update from the forum (the latest one) but still wont let me patch it.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated because im keen to start playing this game online again so please help me out ASAP please!!!.

I am running windows 7 ultimate.
and the computer is a good one :D.

The first thing (MANDATORY STEP) is register the trainz game. Just click the Register button on top of this forum and follow the step by step to get going. Without registering, you will get nowhere as ALL downloads and evolutions of the sim require this, and this includes forum advice. Also, if by chance, your version was bought on Steam, the patches here will do you no good as steam has their own behind the times patches for their set up(I used to have steam version, now I know better, FYI, Steam is a legal version)

The reason for this must do step is

1. It id's that your version is legit and not pirated, ripped, torrented or other illegal version.
2. It puts the train stop on your post header to prove to us it's all good. Most people here do not even bother to post advice until they see the train stop.
3. It unlocks the sim for downloads of patches, extra content, anything Trainz related...

I could keep going but you get the point. If ya got a good version just register the serial number and it's off and running. If you have an illegal version, correct this ASAP by getting the legal version.
 
No my game is not pirated i bought it off ebay.
I just made a new account and the same is still coming up?
Unless there is a product key default i dont know whats going on and how to fix it?
Could i manually patch it?

The "Register" button is not the button you want. Click the "Planet Auran" button instead, log in to your existing account (iambeast8868) on Planet Auran if you are not already, choose the "Serial Number" link on the left under the "Trainz" header, then enter your serial number (a.k.a. CD key) and select your product from the drop-down list. Make sure that you select the correct edition of TS12 that you have in the list.

no still not working did exactly what you said with me logged in. i typed in my product key and it said product key not found.
What do i do?
Where can i get i get a new product key maybe??
Im really keen to start playing this game so please help with some more great advice!

OOPS! Yes, You are right. It is the serial button on the mother page not the one above. Silly me.

Like Zachary said make sure you use the correct TS12 version from the dropdown list, I noticed this is seemingly the most common error in registering TS12. There are 4 versions to choose from I believe. If that still doesn't work, I would click the Helpdesk button and submit a ticket. They can help straighten this out. You would not be the first to have registration troubles.
 
yeah i tryed that and made sure i pressed the right game.

Ill annoy help desk about it. but if any one else has any ideas dont be afraid to ask!

Hi iambeast8868,

I note you bought the game off ebay so it is possible the original owner has previously registered the product? If so I don't think you can 'register' it a second time! The only way you can check this is with the Helpdesk (see the button on the top of the page).

Hi thanks for the help guys still no luck. I am curious about Rons idea but the game was working a few months ago.
I also read through your tutorials Shaneturner12 and downloaded a patch for the game. am i ment to download the latest one or am i ment to go the next one up from my build number to the next to the next until its the latest one?
I downloaded the latest patch and the auto installer came up and it said it red writing ( This patch file is not applicable to your current installation version.No valid patch operation was specified. Patching aborted.) ???
Also because im new to the forum where is the help desk icon so i can email them directly?

Patches always have two numbers in the filename (unless it's from Just Trains).

The first number must match your current build number.

The second number is the build that the patch will take you up to.

Also i was looking at the downloads you have on there like the patches. i Saw one for trainz 2010 engineers edition it was multilayer??? can you get multilayer for 2012?
And a quick other thing lol to anyone reading would anyone know how to copy all the assets from trainz 12 to trainz 2010 engineers edition? i want all the Chinese locos on my route at the moment for trainz 2010.. iv selected the ones in ts 12 and saved them as a cdp i think it is and then what do i do? i went to consist manager on ts 2010 and went import cdps and the come up as having missing dependencies?? and then i launch trainz and i select it and it wont paste or select on my route?? the details are in red for it. and cant past it on my route?? also i think since i did something like that my other original CHN trainz have gone white so the textures messed up on it because the whole train is white now? is there a way to reset consist manager??

Hi again iambeast8868,

From the start...

TS2010 does indeed have a multiplayer beta available, but be aware that this is only a beta - TS12 has the full multiplayer functionality.

Copying assets from a later version to an earlier version is not a good idea unless you know how to backdate the assets. Also, several TS12 assets require items that are built-in to TS12.

If it's appearing in red, this means that it is faulty or missing dependencies. In Content Manager, you can check this (for faulty content it's View Errors and Warnings, for missing dependencies it is View Dependencies).

I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to by 'consist manager'. Could you elaborate on that one?

Oh ok thanks. And sorry i ment Content manager. How would i get the CHN original Locos from appearing white? and is it possible while my ts 12 is not working im working on a ts 2010 route is it possible when i get ts 12 working again to copy my route over to ts 12 or can i only play it on ts 2010? if that makes sense lol??.

Don't worry, you are not boring me.

Were the CHN locos built-in to TS12 (yellowy icon that says 'built in' when hovered over - usually the icon in the first column in search results)?

You will need to register TS12 before you do much else with it to avoid other issues.

I've now fixed the links on my site for the multiplayer patch. If it does not work, it can be downloaded from N3V's site at http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/TS2010_Multiplayer_Beta.

Ok cheers. The CHN locos were from ts 12 and i saved them as a cdp and i think when i imported the cdps it overwrite the original CHN locos that were there and now they have missing dependencies i think? how could i solve this?
