Wel I'm Jordy I am new at the forums, I come from the Netherlands and am 14 years old. but I also have some qeustion. I worked with modeling before with train simulator like this one
WRm420.png
so now I also want to work with trainz 2004, Now I want too make an fictional route with much fantasy in it! So diffrent island and worlds (Got the idea from sea View 5 (train sim route)) but there are not much usefull stuff in the file library, So i want to make my own buildings and scenery! But I don't know how! I tried it but already came up with the fist problems
1 I can't change the uwv. That means I can't apply texture correctly.
help would be appriciated:D
BTW Sorry if it is posted on the wrong forum I am new and still don't know how forums (these forums) work!

Welcome aboard!

You might also want to check out the download station (which is linked at the top of every page on the forums) and the "Freeware Announcements" section to see if a third part creator has made what you're looking for.

Welcome to Trainz.

Trainz is full scale. Everything is created to real world dimensions.

Not to discourage you but there is quite a learning curve to making you own objects in Gmax BUT once you get the hang of it, I think you'll find the joy of creation far exceeds the frustration of creation. I would suggest you start small and work you way up to more complex objects. Nothing can turn off creating as fast as getting in over your head. Soon enough you'll be creating what ever you need. :) Goed geluk.

Welcome! Hope in! Have a look aorund! For a 14, year old, That's some pretty Fine work. Did you make that from scratch?;)
Nope from picture's, I love M420's so I wanted to make one for msts but I don't know how to make eng. files. And I am an uh how do you cal it? Someone who likes precise things. (Sorry if came out wrong way forgot the word for it)
and to martinvk is a burnded building easy enough??.
And with scale I meant in msts I must schrink the gmax models to be big enough to get on the rails;)

You mean a building that had a fire? Actually, that would be a bit harder if only because of the irregular shapes you might have. Clean, precise shapes are easy. It is the messy shapes with lots of bent pieces that are harder because of the extra polys that a needed. If the only damage is surface discolouration then that can be done totally in texture. The trick is to get the texture just right. That learning curve is not only in Gmax but also in whatever image editor you use to make your texture files.

With Gamx and Trainz, there is nothing to shrink or resize. You design full scale. That is, if something is 2m long in real life, you create a 2m long object in Gmax and when you import it into Trainz it will appear as a 2m long object in your route. A simple as that.

Hi
Welcome.
After you have downloaded GMax and registered it download the Content Creator Pack.

Also. Take a look at Tafweb's excellent tutorial and examples for Gmax.
You should find them easy to follow, from your creating first box to uploading your first building.

Other tutorials are available, but I suggest starting with the above and then progressing.
Once again. Welcome to the Forum

Cheers
Pete.

ok so If i want to make my msts M420 Trainz then i have to find the right size, must not be too hard. to bad though that trainz ain't have somekid shape viewer like msts Because I make stuff on my laptop and test it on the pc.
And that fire house, Won't worry I am pretty good at making many pole stuff, and ive learned how to make poly count lower without removing models parts itself.
And I use paint.net for texturing and it works quite wel (Especialy with some plugins)
