Hello I'm new+ qeustion

ok now new things to know

Oh ok thnx, but one more thing (I know I am irritating) How do I see how big the models are in gmax (like how many meters) And how big is an ordinary person in trainz (2 meter or 1.2 meter) an how widt is an standard gauge track????? A house is easy to find though. I can't check these things because I build models on another pc an use them on an other other pc:o

Models? Whatever the real thing is, that's the size in Trainz.
People are all sizes, just like in real life. Aim for 1.8m and you're not far off.
Standard gauge is 1435mm just like the real thing. Narrow and broadgauge are proportional.

Again, the world in Trainz is full size. If something is really 20m wide, then that is how wide it needs to be build in Trainz. You can forget about scale. Unlike a model railway, you don't run out of room in Trainz. You just add another baseboard.

Thanks I know it is in full scale but I can't ask everyone HEE how long are you?? that would sound stupid:hehe:. So now I think everyting is on the right scale:D

Hi All,
Standard Gauge: I thought it depends on what country your route is based on !!!
Unless your referring to Trainz in general.
Cheers
Pete.

Its simply a case of common sense.
You wouldn't have a 1.8 metre child, would you?

Pete.

Wel I geus trainz in general, just the normal concrete rails or snow rails those stuff. But no narrow gauge BTW the route is based on....uh none but the rail is based on the us...I think. I don't know it is to fictional
Ok that could do the trick.

Invisible??????

Well I Made my first model and exported it added textures and an uh config file but when opening trainz al I see is nothing I see the name but the model is invisible I can't place it, I can do nothing! is there any mistake I made:confused:

It seems that you have omitted any reference to the object that tells Trainz what to display. I have added the missing line in red

or use this format in the same position if you have TRS2004 or later.

mesh-table {
default {
mesh "droid_standby.im"
auto-create 1
}
}

The brackets are important, don't omit one or have one too many. You can leave the kuid-table empty if you have no dependant kuids as long as the brackets are there.

Cheers

I have just noticed the kuid for your object. That should be your own kuid that you were given when you registered. It seems unlikely that you would have been assigned 21 as your kuid

Wel I can't find my kuid number! I thought I found it But indeed 21 is a strange number

Create anything yourself (eg a little layout) and it'll be given your usernumber as the first part of its kuid number. (There are probably other ways of discovering it but I can't remember them.)

What is that png texture?
I'm only familiar with tga, bmp and jpg as textures in Trainz. Best use tga. It needs to be uncompressed tga and their dimensions have to be a power of 2. 32x32, 64x128, 256x256 etc.

Have you read the Content Creator's Guide? It contains this info as well as lots of other good hints and advice about making objects for Trainz.
