height adjusting for buildings

Is the best way of putting buildings 'higher' to place them, raise them and some sort of way to snap the ground to it?

ie raising a building to platform height etc

You cant snap ground to an object only splines. Content creators of buildings always start from the ground up, never putting enough below ground to allow for uneven ground levels etc. I always use a spline of some type like concrete or wide footpaths to place an atificial ground level with the platform to a point that ground level can be set..
