I dunno about the book, but I know that Donal' and Dougie were based on this loco.
If I get it right, I don't really want to post a picture. Will it be ok If I give my turn to another person?

I'm guessing that the loco in the RWS that is based on this loco is The (Very?) Old Engine. I think it was an LNER J50.

Originally built by EMD as GP38s. Rebuilt from GP38 to RP-E4C by the TMS at the Junieta Shops in Altoona,PA. Some have been rebuilt from Ex-SOU GP38AC units.
Rebuilt as RP-E4C from Jan 2009 to Present.
Numbers 700-736 with up to 727 complete.
Built to operate with GP40-2 Master Units.
