Having a problem with my Trainz pc which needs replacing as it is gradually going on meI have had to use another pc which isn't quite as up to things but will do as an interim. What I am unsure of is whether to go for one with Intel or AMD graphics hence the title of this thread! There will be a arguments for both and my preent lingering pc has AMD and it was fine but I have had Intel in the past. Anyway, being myself, it is handy to have a couple of opinions stirring the pot for me to decide on.
Graphics. I know, I know, how long is a piece of string!

I have only had 1 AMD Radion card & it let me down, but I've not had any problems with Nvidia cards.
I don't know if it makes a difference what your main processor is, would an AMD card work better with an AMD processor
than with an Intel & vice versa ?

I perhaps should add that it is now debatable as to whether AMD will continue producing Desktop processors it looks very much like they will be concentrating on APU's (Combined CPU and GPU on one chip) This might conceivably in the future have a knock on effect in them producing separate graphics cards as well. Nothing wrong with Intel processors, it's just ignoring their top of range which can't be beaten, Mid range AMD are or were cheaper for similar performance, in my case purely an economic choice.

Only time I had amd card and it let me down in my older pc 2 or 3years ago, it kept causing my computer to blue screen and it was related to the graphics card failing. Tried everything to fix it but in the end the best fix was throwing the whole piece of junk pc away. It was getting up and age anyway and decided to kick it to the curb :hehe:. But hey maybe companies change just I dont' want to find out again the hard way.
