Graphics card upgrade

Hi.

I am having FPS problems with World of Subways 3, and they have informed me that my graphics card, ATI Radeon 4650, is not adequate. What would y'all recommend as a replacement that would work well, and also work for TS2012, (my FPS is not stunning there either) hopefully not to cost more than $100?

I'm running a 1980 x 1020 LCD monitor.

Thanks,
Mick Berg.

I have an old Geforce 8600GTS with 256mb and it can run WOS 2 at 1680x1050 at medium smooth. Im planning on upgrade my old crapc with an ATI 6770 and if you search with his name on youtube you will see that it can handke BF3 and GTA IV. Here in spain is avaliable at 90-100 €/100-110$. But i recommend you to clean your HDD, and defrag it too. I can run TS2009 at 1920x1080 at full without lag in a 25" tv. Good luck and think to buy a good card at 150-200$ that you could use and run smoothly insome year

Cheers

It will depend on your power supply. The best value is the nVidia 550 TI or ATI HD6770 which are about $115-$120 on rebate at Tigerdirect. If you really have to stick to $100 or less, you can pick up a GTS450 for about $100, with a rebate for $20 back for a total of $80.

I found and ordered a ASUS HD6770 (DDR5, 1g vram) on Amazon. With $20 MIR rebate and free shipping, it ends up at $65. Not bad eh? Much better specs than my 4650, so let's hope it works. Thanks for the advice. Will report back when I've got it going and used it a bit.

Thanks,
Mick.

I have installed the HD6770 and it works well. It has fixed the problem with WSO3 and there is an improvement in Trainz. However, as I was warned in reviews, you can't overclock it without getting crashes.

Thanks RRSignal for the advice, pretty good for $65 I think!:Y:
