Texture help

So, I just got Trainz Simulator 12 during its current steam sale. Did the registrations and did the in-game updates and when I started the first tutorial I saw this

Anyone willing to help a still beginning PC gamer?

If I'm at the wrong place or if this has already been discussed a link would greatly be appreciated

What build does it say it is on the opening window? Did you do any build patching?

Whoops silly me for not including that.

I'm using Build 61297

and did the ~19 Download Content Patches

Looking at it, you have two separate problems.

To answer the first one, I will need to know what graphics card you have, as I believe the problem is that your system is not keeping up with the demands of the game.

Secondly, it appears that you also have the multicolour texture problem, but the option to fix this was removed in TS12 Service Pack 1 so that's not going to be fixable.

That could pose a problem. Intel graphics cards are not known for running Trainz well. Have you tried running it in DirectX mode (Launcher > Options > Display Settings)?

I'm gonna need to remember switching to Directx if it's set to OpenGL next time (had an issue with OpenGL with another game)

No problem - incidentally, my previous system had an Intel card so it's something I had to do myself.

It should remember the setting unless it crashes for some reason.
