GP38 troubles too.

GP38 locos are also refusing to be seen.
Digging through CMP eventually led to this for <kuid:-10:206>

What is needed to do something about it?

Warning: Progressive meshes are no longer supported by CCP. Though these meshes may work in Trainz, it is recommended that you switch to a LOD mesh.

At some point in the last 12 months tried to do the built-in Paint Shed thing with the GP38 and it wouldn't open there either.

Oh, yeah, we're talking 2006, build 2.6 I think?, then after that there's another number like (3337).
Will have to start the program to see start up screen to check for sure on the last.
There's probably another place to find those numbers but I don't know it.
Yet.

Builtin assets are all contained in a couple of .ja compressed files and are not checked by CMP during the installation of TRS2006. So, if any of them contains errs or tags that CMP doesn't like it won't show up until you go to commit them as a result of editing them.

In the case of the builtin gp38 (kuid:-10:203) I opened it for edit in CMP then commited it and it had no errors. I run TRS2006 build 3092. So you must have done something to it that CMP doesn't like.

For the time being, I'm going to protest that I didn't do anything to it since Paint Shop wouldn't open it for me to do something to it.

And at the time during the fall I didn't have the confidence to tinker with editing anything in CMP.

Although after PS wouldn't open the GP38 I my have at that point, figuring "Oh well, it is already broke, what more can I do to it, now." We're talking almost 12 months ago, so who knows really.

--> At that point this question comes up:
TRS 2006 is what is in this machine.
There is not a set of 2006 CDs and the book to be found.
There is a TRS single CD.

Did it start with TRS then get TRS2006 as download?
Could it be an error in the download - there are a couple other faulty things.
Don't know. Just don't know.

Well, let's try someting -

Just re-read the manual tryng to figure out something else and while scrolling through to find info in that, "Revert to original" heading caught the eye.

Off to CMP to see what happens.
Will be back to tell.

Well, pick your favorite expletive(s) and insert here.

17.8.3 Reverting Content
When an asset is Open for Edit it can be returned to its previous state in the
TAD by using the Revert option. This essentially deletes the asset's editing
folder and turns off the Open for Edit flag. To Revert an asset select the asset
in the Main View and right-click, then choose Edit -> Revert from the context
menu.
Another Revert option, available only for built-in content, is to Revert to
Original. In this case the modified asset is reverted back to its original state as
supplied with TRS2006. Select a built-in asset in the Main View and right-click,
then choose Edit -> Revert to Original from the context menu.

WARNING: When reverting assets all changes made to the asset
are lost. In the case of Revert to Original this means any and all
changes, in the Revert case it means all those changes made
since the asset was last committed to the TAD.

My brain is the kind where if it does not say outright other similar designations of, in this case locomotives will be lost then it did not mean that.
To me "the asset" means THE asset - one and one only.

I did revert to original on the GP38 and a bunch of downloaded stuff, Amtrak, Rock Island, Southern, has vanished.

The MKT GP40 which wasn't working and then I got fixed is now invisible again.

Some Chessie GP38 which were not visible are now visible - but without trucks.

Frustrating and disappointing, to the max.
