Google Maps Railfanning Section (READ RULES!)

I feel like that one was a set up. Like some one saw the Google Earth car and was like "I'll just leave this here."

Well my grandparents on my Dad's side of the family lives in Newport, but I go up to my Grandmother's house on my Mom's side of the family because all my cousins are on my Mom's side of the family and my Dad was an only child.

Yup. I know the feeling. It's like the big hook from the sky placed the freshly weathered model on the tracks for the camera to see. :)

You did notice there is a derail in place just as there is a derail installed a little further down the track.

Let's fire up this thread back up!!! :D
Here we see two Geeps sitting in the Greensboro NC yard.

(Oh by the way, #opendoorpolicy

All of these are on the same road, U.S. Highway 41 in East Ridge, Tennessee:

I wish there was more of these around . . .

I don't see any trains there buddy.

`

Didn't you see the billboards advertising you to stop for trains (pictures 1 & 2)? The old boxcar poking out from behind the building (picture 3)? And the old wooden caboose sitting beside the building (picture 4)? Did you also notice the old Airstream sitting next to the caboose?

Didn't you read the rules at the beginning of the thread:

PLEASE READ THE RULES!

1. Must be a "Street View" picture of a locomotive. Can be from ANY COUNTRY.
2. Must be able to read the Locomotive Number.
3. Identify the Railroad Company, Locomotive Number, and the location. If you want to identify the locomotive type that is okay, too.

Well, I have felt that these need to be shown to people around the world because there are not a lot of advertisements about stopping for trains (pictures 1 and 2), plus I have wanted to share the other two pictures because they are examples of cars being used for other purposes. Also, since I used Google Earth to find it, I figured that this would be the place to put it. I guess I should have started a new thread or placed it in another thread. . .

I'm not great with loco models, but here's an old high-hood geep #2262 sitting on a portion of the ex-PRR/Conrail Bustleton Branch at Bluegrass Rd., Philadelphia, right next to Northeast Philadelphia airport. This segment served a Whitman's Chocolate factory (now a shopping center), a paper company (still operating), and a now-closed Hostess bakery.

I'm not sure WHO that loco belongs to, though, but much of this line is still active and I remember about 10 years ago watching Conrail locals come off the Northeast Corridor to service this area.
