You're most welcome to the 'suggestion' and I will certainly agree (from personal experience) that ALL Hofner products (not just the 500/1 series) are very well made (and they make more than just guitars) but if by

...you are suggesting that these particular microphones ought to be used to record tha Bass' output, then I see no issue with that, so long a VOX AC series Amp (either the 50 Watt version - which Paul MacCartney used up to 1965 or the 100 Watt version that he used after that) is supplying the amplification for the guitar. As an alternative, I would suggest a Phone Century series, which is a specialist 100 Watt Valve amplifier (like the Vox AC series), that produces a superb sound, fully compatible with the Hofner 500/1 guitars...
...although I am not sure if Sir George Martin would have used those mikes at Abbey Road...
