GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

With exporters...

Auran released the 3DSMax 3 and 3DSMax 4/5 exporter a fair while ago, and I believe have 6, 7, 8, & 9 exporters in testing at the moment. So, Auran make them 'compatible'. In the case of 3D Canvas Pro, the user 'decapod' created an exporter for it I believe.

Those are the only two that I know of with exporters, and the only info I can remember on 'how'.

Um, how do you get images out of Gmax? Or the Trainz Asset Creation Studio?

You press the 'print screen' button on your keyboard, which then create a 'screengrab' in the 'clipboard'. You then have to past it into a paint program (MS Paint, PainShop Pro, etc). Then save, then upload.

You can get a plug-in renderer for gmax, there's probably a few out there. They work well, but I found them a bit useless as you can't use them in conjunction with Trainz Asset Creation Studio.

You could get a laptop and take the work with you? It's an idea anyway! Good Luck! :D

Cheers,
Mike

That is amazing Zec.
One slight favor though? could you change the stack to be a bit more US traditional, and then create a center-headlight version?
I got a few excursions i can put her on ;)
Cheers.

Sorry, no other versions for the US loco at the moment. The loco is representative of a 1899 Baldwin loco built for the Victorian Railways (Hence most of the loco is actually a little oversize for a standard gauge locomotive), modified slightly to represent a generic US style 2-8-0. The copper top on the funnel seems to be fairly standard on early Baldwin locos, except the copper was rarely cleaned (I've noticed that after a days running the copper is very dull on the locos at my local tourist railway, so if it were rarely cleaned, it would come out almost black in some cases). As it is, the shape of the funnel is traditional Baldwin, atleast from my experience with Baldwin steamers. My local tourist railways fleet of 2-6-2T steam locos were built from Baldwin designs. Same with this 2-8-0. :)

As to the headlight, no way. There is no way I'm going to 'uglify' my 2-8-0 with a center headlight. This is a very small loco after all... :)

Well, guess what happens when you get bored... The US version now has a black funnel cap :P

Still no center headlight though... Thats one thing I just can't bring myself to do... :P
