GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

GE Brasil presented its new narrow-gauge locomotive (1000mm) in 2014 for Klabin and Rumo. This is GE ES43-BBi:

The first locomotive to leave the factory, won a commemorative painting, in honor of the president of Rumo/ALL, Julio Fontana in Brazil:

It's not being too easy, but I hope it will be rewarding in the end!

Is that Autodesk Inventor? If so, a) That looks AWESOME and b) I didn't know that you could even use Inventor for Trainz meshes

Since my last model was of a tank engine that spent much of its working life in the East Midlands, it's time to start work on something completely different- a tank engine that spent much of its working life in the East Midlands...

Good stuff, it looks superb.

Rob.

You can not export to Trainz but you may be able to import it into Blender where you would have to fix it lot.

Not sure exactly what it is, but to me it looks more like GMax. Last I remember he was using GMax anyway.

No, I am kinda sure that it is inventor. Mostly because I used it in high school and inventor has the "cube-looking thing" in the upper right-hand corner.

A lot of the components of the locomotive are already finished, but I still have a lot of work to do.

It's Max. ~~~~

Well, thanks for clearing that up. (I'm guessing that its 3ds max. I have never used it because I prefer open-source software.) Anyway, I have done a little more work to my UP 9000 class, I have completed the front and rear bogies and finished the majority of the details on both sides of the loco. (Excluding animations) I am saving the rest of the details (I.E. the smaller bolts and such) for a Normal Map. (Excluding the bell, which I am still working on. I am also planning to have it swing back-and-forth in an animation.) I have also just learned that there is now/ has been a up 9000 available for Railworks. (Where have I been, under a rock?) So now I feel that I have to do my best to "compete" with it. (Not likely that it will look quite as good or better, but, hey, I'll still try my best.)

I have also worked a little bit on the tender, currently its just the frame that goes underneath the coal and water storage. This time, I am going to triangulate everything as I go. (Last time I completed the main part of the mesh before triangulating everything. Took me a week to get everything working.) I hope this will save me a lot of frustration when exporting the mesh into blender.

What engine is that Jackson? Screams PRR to me, also I know it's not an S1 as 1.The wheel arrangement is incorrect 2.The boiler is not long enough..
Also curious.
4-6-4 Hudson - Not a PRR loco. Maybe NYC J3 but the side covering's not right or ATSF 3460?

I think it's the Lake Erie & Eastern's "The Clipper" loco.
I thought Jackson had 4-8-4's pulling that.

The LE&E does have 16 4-8-4s on the roster spread across two classes, they chose faster class O4 Hudsons to pull their newly launched streamliners in 1937.

It's protolanced based on other streamlined locomotives, but it's a LE&E loco through and through.

I am glad that all you guys like it. However, I can foresee a couple challenges that may come up in the near future with this project.
1. Exporting the mesh and it's bogies into .im and .kin format. (It is an absolute pain to get the exporter file(s) installed into blender.)
2. Animations. I have had quite a bit of experience with 3d modeling, but with animations I am still an amateur.
Are you using gmax? If you are, you can use trainz asset creation studio.( I use Anim8or for the main mesh, and gmax for the bogeys and finishing touches.)
