GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Hi

Unfortunately those of you who think that the racehorse names given to some of the A1/A3 locos are silly are making the common mistake of using todays values to look back at history. When these locos were named almost 90 years ago horse racing was quite popular in the UK and the classic winning horses were often household names. At that time it made sense to name the locos after the fastest horses to make the most of the publicity that association with those horses could bring.

Of course in the intervening years most of those horses are long forgotten so you are now looking at those names completely out of their original context.

Regards

Brian

I think it depends on the racehorse if I'm honest, they are some great names that sound very fitting and still sound good even today like Firdaussi.

[Nice picture]

If you don't intend this grainy ground, simply raise the number of the sampling subdivs of you main GI light. Standard is mostly 8, at 16 it gets acceptable, the higher the value the better it gets. But the longer the render time will be...

The valve gear components are now all in place, but animation is not yet complete. Following that I will add the associated parts to the cylinders and put the conjugated valve gear on.

Edh6, I cannot say it enough, but that A3 is beautiful. It truly will be great to have in Trainz. I have always wondered why for such a famous engine that an update model had not been made. Keep up the good work. I cannot wait to drive it (as I type this I am driving an A4 in realistic as 83.5 mph)

Looking beautiful edh6. I see the conjugating valve gear has appeared. That is amazing, so quick. From here it looks like all she needs is her green cylinders, cab crest, and white stripping on the wheel centres and tyres, and she would be ready to steam off (without tender however). Keep up the good word edh6. I believe there is an accurate recording of a Flying Scotsman's bell whistle from the Pegler Era in Trainz, as I use it on the old outdated A3. There is also a chime whistle from the modern era. It is called LNER Bell whistle, by username "30583".
