I don't think I know of any classes with more than two inside cylinders...

The red item on the 2nd driving axle isn't a counter weight, but rather a crank. As stated it takes the drive from the inside cylinder. This locomotive has outside cylinders too, but it was common in the UK to have locomotives with just two inside cylinders. I believe the practice was started as placing the cylinders low down and inside the wheels helps with locomotive stability.

Actually it is the crank for the middle cylinder; the P2 being a 3 cylinder loco, two outside and one inside. incidentally 2001, Cock O' The North, as built, was the odd one out as it had Lenz poppet valve gear rather than Walschaerts.

EDIT: Ed beat me to it. :o

Whoops! Sorry, I get the two mixed up sometimes.

P.S. Love the P2, can't wait for it!

Nothing special here but it shows progress for the brewery.

G'day Azervich,

...as trainboi1 notes, it would be ..."...quite the re-gauge..."... but there is no way, Aaron, I could accept THAT locomotive as the VR "Light Line Class 'D'" 4-4-0, passenger locomotives built by the Phoenix Foundry in 1894 - not even in my WILDEST dreams...

Jerker {:)}

I'm pretty sure Azza is referring to their predecessor, the Rogers 4-4-0 'American' (162 and 164; later D162/D164) rather than the later Phoenix D class.

However I don't think a 3ft gauge 4-4-0 would translate well to a 5ft3in 4-4-0 lol

G'day S301,

...ah, now, the so-called "Rogers" locomotives would be a much better proposition for trainboi1's creation, Zec and I could easily 'live with that'!. I guess I missed the bit about them being reclassified as "D Class" locomotives during my reading...

G'day rastis,

...I guess I had best be careful and watch what I do, then, Jake, although you might want to check your spelling of the word "purpose"...

G'day!

Ah crap. Good spotting Jerker lol, I would've gone right past that.

Some street name signs.

Cheers!

Jake.
