Hey all,

Most of the texture work is done and I'm in the process of adding final details, but here's what I have so far, hopefully she'll be released in the next week or 2 :)

I'd like some opinions, is the yellow line above the footplate too high or too low, does the snow (plough or plaugh, can't spell, lol) and pilots look right, steps on the cab ends go what colour and is it a silver strip or white strip on them, I didn't show renders of the short end as the ditch lights are incomplete.

Cheers.

Got some work on the observation car done.

The counter, back area, and microwave has been made.

And I fixed the word Canada and the flipped texture.

On the NW5, I don't think you would see the fan mechanism through the top because there should be radiator grids in there. Looks pretty good otherwise.

QR Davidson Carriages

Hello Everyone,

@Peter, looks great; hope to have that under these coaches. I will send you the roller bearing version drawing of that bogie design.

Anyways; Just some gmax development screenshots of my updated Q.R Davidson Carriages with new frames, details in mesh and variations in colour schemes that represent different eras/ regions the carriages were used. They feature in original condition, original but with carriage shades which was represented of carriages that were used in the Northern Division in the tropics, QR Swiggle with different colour scheme for carriages and Kuranda tourist train.

Having a quick play around with Blender this afternoon. Pretty iconic throughout Australia right up to 1981. Found lots of variations and styles. Trying to template them all. I'll probably release this with the PSD so everyone can rename them.

All vector graphics, no photos.

I was just thinking of Golden Fleece Service Station the other night when I said I might make some more large fuel tanks at fuel depots. I remember my dad used to always fuel up at Golden Fleece Service stations he said they were the only true Australian brand.

Nice work on these, Every week on the way to Brisbane I pass one of these signs at Forbes but it is behind sum large trees so pics are pretty much out of the question but for memory it does not have the name of the town on it like yours do anyway. We'll done Firstsoloflight.
Cheers Mick.

Many of them don't. And they're all very inconsistent with height and design. The only consistent is the ram, the shape profile of the sign board, and the tapering post. Everything else is totally subject to each station, or so it would seem. This photo is about as Australian as you can get:

I've also just noticed on this one, and it's the only one I can find with evidence of, is the two loop eyelets on the top, which I can only assume was used to attach the coloured triangle rope flags between the sign and the building. Looks like I'l be making a spline of those too. :P

Edit: Getting there.

Golden Fleece Roadhouses were my standard travelling eatery back in the days when a Big Mac meant a tall Scotsman! Totally out of place on my USA themed routes, but it's gonna get used anyway! Love it...
