Hey Opus, that an ALCO C626? Nice work! There is a lack of ALCO Century units, especially the ones with big power!

It's a C628. I'm not familiar with a C626, did you mean C628? I needed some six-axle Century or U-boat power for my L&N coal drags since those locomotive classes are practically nonexistent for Trainz. Well, the L&N in general is, but I'm trying to bring it, and the other Family Lines members, back to life.

Don't sweet the small stuff.:hehe:

That's some of the smoothest spline textures I've ever seen - enough variation to be interesting while not enough to be repetitive.
Thanks! It was made using a photo I took a few years back, a little work made it almost seamless. The only issue I am having now is with the mapping, which seems to highlight the edge of the mesh too much making very apparent where the spline repeats. Apart from that, I am quite happy with the way it has come together, all I want to do now is experiment with some texture baking to get a more even natural shadow in game. I am quite pleased with my first blender attempt overall.

cheers

There are C628, 630, and 636s over at the erecting hall, check under Alco locomotives and beta releases.... :)

Someone say Century? I probably shouldn't be posting this seeing as theres still plenty of time for it to turn into vaporware but anyways...

Warning, large image

More texture work- trying to get a realistic balance of shadows, then onward to final adjustments and detail work.

I'm really enjoying this learning process. Now that it is starting to make a little sense, it is becoming quite fun to play around with the settings.
