GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Got it in one (must be the whitewalls)! It may be some time before the model is ready for beta testing, especially in cab mode - I'm trying to learn as much as I can before giving up and using (for example) a cab that's already on DLS if necessary. But testing by an experienced steam driver would be great, if you're still interested then.

(Have done some odd jobs in Metairie - the part of Louisiana that sounds like the Bronx, if I remember correctly?)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESYESYESYESYES!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:cool::udrool:

Holy, I, -5!! Haha, I knew you'd do it sooner or later! Oh, my steamey senses are stingling! So, much, drool!!!

(um, I think I forgot my meds this morning.....again....)

EDIT: oh man, just noticed the awesomely amazing South African Railways stuff too...The Red Devil, the 4-8-2 used as her prototype (I'm assuming) and a Class 19D 2-8-4 (I think that's right?); yeah, It's a good day to be a steam fan! :Y:

Another Venue?

:hehe: (The last part was funny. I don't know why it's funny, it just is.)

I can help in that department. Even though I've only driven steam loco's in a Sim, I have a pretty good understanding of how a steamer should work.

(I was born in 1996. Am I disqualified? :hehe:)

And about the Brick, blame me. :p I found it!

Hmmm... my friends in Metairie were always quite proud of their accent, and pointed it out to visitors. In fairness, guess you could say that natives of the Bronx have a Metairie accent...

No, looking for a sim-steam test pilot so you'll do fine. I'm a complete rookie: somehow got the feed and regulator in such a state that my kitbashed H-1 Atlantic was doing over 700 mph and lapping itself around the test track. Must have been tracking one of the flying staybolts after the explosion.

@sawyer811 - Please be patient (some more). Still a bunch of parts to be built (plus the tender), though the real puzzle will be getting it to behave like a steamer instead of an electric.

Probably best move that thought to the Freeware venue - I generally hate announcing things that aren't complete and ready to download, but couldn't resist when the drivers were up and running.

Heap's of Gon's already in game i know but i started this that long ago it isnt funny, And i still have so much to learn.

....Duff!....

EDIT! Someboy is gonna see that - not underatand - and accuse me of political incorrectness.

Love it Dave :)

What are you using these models for? This can't be model intended for use in the game. I don't want to jump conclusions, even though I've seen time and time again people over detail their "game" models(rrmods and their hoppers come to mind, among others whom I don't remember the names of). Though, even as a normal model it has a lot of issues that would prevent it from working well for that function.

If you're making some neat 3d renders though, sure. Could use some textures and something a little nicer than stock sunlight :p

I agree JoshEH. The poly count in that model just might make trainz have a meltdown. But the amount of detail is killer, especially the modelling of the diamond plated metal.

Maybe the purpose of that amount of level is for use it to render the textures and then to map a lesser poly mesh with them. I think so

Greetings

Hmm, I never thought of that before. A very good idea to get accurate door textures.

Thanks steve, you got me started on something BIG.

This looks a bit like some sort of laser cannon! :hehe:
