GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

I suspect we are looking at a 4-8-4. Considering the gauge I suspect it may be a SAR class 25. It could also be a SAR class 26 (aka the Red Devil). Either way it is already looking quite good, keep it up!

I would love it to be a 25 will full condensing tender, and 3511 nameplates. I can dream. It could also be a Brazilian or Dona Christina metre gauge engine.

Back in time : 1952 Austrian Simmering Graz Pauker diesel-hydraulic train with three units ... WIP yet , but working in T:ANE .

Ben, Saturn, Fly;

Nope, not a 25, and not a K.
25's and 25NC's have cast bed frames, and K's are a fair bit longer...
Another hint; Don't be so sure it's a 4-8-4.

For comparison; top is the Connecting Rod from a SAR 25NC, and bottom is the Connecting Rod from the mystery Loco.

Also; more progress...

Cheers,

I'd guess one of the Tasmanian 4-8-2s. Something like this:

Something like this? The front end isn't right to be this exact prototype but I believe there were three or four design variations among the Tasmanian 4-8-2s.

Ok, Trainboi1 guessed correct...

Tasmanian Railways Q class.
The earliest (1922) of two 4-8-2 tender classes on the TGR.
Over the span of 22 years there were 19 manufactured by 3 different builders.
Q5 is the only survivor.

I must say, though. I'm impressed by everyone's knoweledge of such a specific loco type / research.
I should do this more often...

The latest;

DHG 700 with a Class 66. Someone broke out the windows of the DHG 700 (actually, it's because the window textures were named the same.)

Had to re-cut the side radiator grills on the class 66. The version I was modeling doesn't have full panel height openings.

Hurleyco,
I could only guess that loco because I've had people wanting to see me build one or more of the Tasmanian 4-8-2s for years...:p If I'd paid better attention I probably could've gotten the class, but I have drawings for all of them and I always jumble which is which. Your model looks absolutely fantastic by the way, it seriously looks as though you could print from it.

tbird; That's the one!

Trainboi; Had trouble acquiring Drawings for the H class, yet found Q class drawings pretty easily on the net.

Besides, I think I'd rather model a loco that was designed and manufactured in Australia, the H class being from Vulcan in the UK.
