GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

hi,

@Martin
Thank you for your very kind words. Nice that you're still in Trainz go. A real TrainZ fan or in other words, True Love.

I spent all day yesterday learning to use 3DS Max. I had already a working knowledge of it. Yesterday, I finally created something. However, after installing the TRAINZ exporter plug in, it doesn't work. When I go to export, the Trainz extensions (i.m, kin) do not show up. Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance,

Dave Snow

Wrong Exporter Version for 3d Max> TrainZ?
I.M/kin Exporter supported not every Max Version.

Or false Install Folder. and not Plugin.ini File (Max Main Folder) has not right Path Entry's to the Plugin "Exporter".

I don't understand. I couldn't find a Plugin.ini folder.

Dave...

Under C:\program files\autodesk\3ds max 12 there are 2 folders with the name plug in

The one that reads "plugins" is where you want to drop your file named "JetExporter.dle"

Export as normal.

Let me know if you need any other help.

Chris

I tried that folder with the following error when I open 3DS Max.

Thanks

welcome to "DLL" hell...

And looking at the directory of the error, it is definitely 64 bit, notice it does not show (x86) on the directory in the error.

G'day davesnow,

...assuming that the geometry is being exported as you expect (you do not indicate if this is the case or not), Dave, you need to explicitly check the "Export animation.." check box in the export dialogue box to also export any included animation with your asset. This check box is 'off' by default...

OKAY! I managed to get the right file into the Plugins.... Exported my trailer...Made a TRAINZ asset... went into Surveyor to have a look.... and I see I have my Mud Flaps in FRONT of the tires instead of behind! LOL!
